I think the only reason they have decided to Stick to the Atom name is because the next name might contain the letter 'i' and they might get sued by Apple.

Seriously though, like most, I am anxious to see what this baby will be able to do... (of course not that I expect it to outpeform the S4 for example)

Now these are NEWS guys, Intel officially joins the mobile-tablet race. Dear GSMArena benchmarks ASAP please.... :-)
I have the impression that this Atom fella is going to give ARM SoCs a serious headache.

Beautiful, but anybody knows if there is a technical reason for that poor screen resolution?

this is going to be the gamechanger, Intel's x86 architecture and processing power will redefine the handheld devices. the era of mobiles being used for calls only & snapping quick pictures is over!!!

Muscatv1n, 18 Sep 2012Wow 2GHz, impressive!!! I hope it performs better than the... moreThey don't put the 3300mAh in every phone due to price and size. This is a upper-mid-ranger, so 2000mAh makes it a class leader.

Keep in mind that the Atoms in netbooks ran a completely different OS and programs, not lightweight OS and apps. I suppose for their own sake, Intel could have chosen a different name then Atom for their mobile CPUs.

Thinking again, i kinda see the logic in this.

People always say that android is laggy no matter how many cores u put in it. Android doesnt use all the core it has, it only uses what it needs.

So, using one core, even though laggy, still makes the phone work, hence the OS doesn't see any need to use its extra cores.

Solution, put in a crazy ass freakin fast single core cpu..the OS will not run out of horsepower, and it never will have to make the decision to use any other core :)

@truth HyperThreading was never gone anyway, still exist in current Intel ivybridge processors.

Its not all about 2GHz, it is all about hyper threading, which can beat more cores cpu's with it.
