Danol123, 18 Mar 2021Jerry Rig Everything isn’t the ideal point of view for test... moreSpeak for yourself. If it doesn't matter to you, this 'little less structural integrity' that you just talked of, then it doesn't mean, that it doesn't matter to anyone else. There are people who use phones without much care or proper handling and it's essential that every phone pass this test, gaming phone or not

Jerry Rig Everything isn’t the ideal point of view for testing either. It seems very much similar to what happened with the iPhone 6. people complained that it bent or snapped in half when in reality it didn’t and the cases where it did happen was actually done on purpose with incredible force you’d never see being used with a phone ever. A little less structual integrity don’t matter this much if you use your device as intended. So in all essence the lesser integrity isn’t a key factor at all for the average consumer, and the kids who love to brag about their broken phones would be all over this. Lol. Use your phone as intended and you’ll never have worry about it. Jerry Rig is basically just destroying phones. Not once has he made a serious review about a device.

aww...that's just heart breaking and disappointing from Asus ROG. I'm no expert but if I were to guess, it has to do with the 2 batteries sitting on top and bottom of the phone to place the CPU right at the middle, leaving very little durability especially since the phone is very tall at almost 20:5 aspect ratio
the new side port design may also be a weak spot.

regardless, I am still gonna get this phone. It will be a worthy upgrade from the ROG Phone 2

Asus sure isn't shy at the pricing department, however this time they're better be back at the drawing-board. One phone we'll have to skip for sure.

Well until you keep the phone in your knee pockets you're gonna be good. Still not a phone for people who rage quit, they gonna break it the first day. The new thermal design comes at the cost of structural integrity. It's still an amazing phone for those who take care of their gadgets, for everyone else, go for something stronger.

[deleted post]You'd expect brand new phone to do better than a 6 years old one...

Not gonna be surprised if all ASUS ROG5 series will fail Jerry's bend test. Especially for the fact that all share the same design.
