Snapdragon... moreThe problem with 870 is it doesn't come with integrated modem, and an external modem would mean saying goodbye to headphone jack or smaller battery or both (external modem takes extra space). So even though it'll be priced lower, it'll fetch less buyers.

The other person asked why to buy Zenfone over a Galaxy, and I was answering particularly that. I do like the choice of custom roms, but that doesn't come on day one. Only after months you'll get a stable one, and till then I'd prefer to run ZenUI over MIUI. Same goes for OnePlus too, but with their new Hasselblad partnership, I guess it's not gonna come cheap.

Currently using 5Z. Unfortunately ASUS didn't launch Z-6 and Z-7 in Malaysia and Singapore. Z7 is a bit too big for me. Looking forward to the "Mini" phone and perhaps with middle range spec and price because I don't need to fast Snapdragon speed.

if that's what you are gonna do, might as well buy a xiaomi. The con you listed for xiaomi is nullified once you change the ROM, then why buy asus?

Finally! I am happy with my Zenfone 6 but it's so chunky. I'd love to have the same but smaller.

I have expected Snapdragon 870 for a mid-ranger. Snapdragon 888 has higher peak performance, but cannot sustain it. It falls back even behind Snapdragon 865. Asus could offer the handset for a lower price and has the selling point of endurance.

Asus phones have always been a bit heavier than others so I would think it's a bit heavier than that

I expect Zenfone mini will weight anywhere between 160-180g

Anonymous, 19 Mar 2021I bought ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M2 one year back and till dat... moreZenfone Max series had pure stock android, will only has what stock android offers by default. There's a great support of custom roms for M1 Pro and M2 Pro if you go and search on xda. Samaung Phone has ads, and the affordable phones come with nerfed hardware and nerfed OneUI core, and a 720p display. Samsung's Exynos and Knox security make it really unpopular in Custom ROMs communities. If you're comparing it to Samsung Phones, M1 Pro with a Custom ROM and gcam can still beat most of the Samsung Phones under 10k.

If you're comparing it with phones from Xiaomi, they too have great support for custom Roms, but MIUI is full bloat, and their earlier models only got 1 major Android Update (MIUI was bumped for longer though).

The situation with current Zenfone is different though. They offer ZenUI, which feels like stock, but has a lot of great features. They get regular updates too, Zenfone 6 was launched with Android 9 and is now running Android 11. All this on top of being Custom ROM developer friendly. Zenfone 7's android 11 is in beta though.

The decision is your, would you like an extra year of Android Updates filled with ads, and no option to install a custom ROMs, or man up to install a Custom ROM whenever you want and run your phone for as long as you want. The choice is yours.

been using a 6" mi 9 se i can say this phone is compact enuf but not really a one-hand operatable but still, acceptable.this phone has 3000maH so for zen7m probably the battery department should be around that capacity unless it gets thicker.since it use sd888 i am expecting the price would be in 500-ish bracket(hopefully).lets wait n see

My screen on my LG Stylo 6 is a 6.8 inch display, it is only a little bit smaller but i probably won't be buying a new phone any time soon, as i have just recently gotten my Stylo 6, although i am quite intrigued in what kind of specs it will have, because before i upgraded to the Stylo 6 i had a an LG Q Stylo+, i had upgraded to the Q Stylo+ i had an Asus Zenfone Max M1 and i really enjoyed using my Zenfone Max M1
