Firstly, I am not either for or against Android or Apple. When I buy new tech, I look around at all products to see if it will do what *I* require. I do not buy simply on the basis that my mate says it's good or 10 million others, for that matter. I have no real brand-loyalty as such. It's what is does for *me* even if I was the only person to buy it. I was originally running windows mobile 6.5 which I liked - but no one else did :( Therefore, when I wanted to move platforms I checked out the market including Windows Phone, Blackberry, Android and iPhone with an open view on all of them. The thing I liked about WM6 was that, as a business user, I could see my appointments on screen at all times. That ruled out iPhone. Like most stuff on Apple (it's biggest downfall) is that you have to go *into* the App to use it whether that be appointments or the weather etc. I use a lot of spreadsheets for personal use (massive DVD/CD collections for example) so that ruled out Blackberry (apparently, you have to E-mail these to yourself which is a nuisance). I was close to going Windows Phone but I found the 'tile' aspect restrictive although it did partially show next appointments but in a very limited view due to tile size.
The logical conclusion was Android. There are some wonderful (useful) apps such as Business Free Calendar and Gotasks. Both sync neatly to the cloud so even if you lost your phone, your data is still intact. The widgets update in real-time (like appointment lists), you can drop .avi's plus other media types onto the phone as well as spreadsheets. You can easily transfer data like SMS from one android to another - so changing phones means you don't lose your data - and you can stick a 32GB card for all of those films! Also, you have complete choice of screen size etc. to suit you (S3 is nice but screen too big so I use a SE Ray which is small, fast and light).
That's why I went for Android as it is so flexible. In some respects, that's an annoying feature as all Android phones work differently and fragmentation is a big problem (stop releasing OS upgrades so frequently, Google!!!). A mate at work has an iPhone and we have plenty of interesting debates and his take is that some people *want* simplicity. I.e. An apple which is fair enough. Interestingly, he now has a Google Nexus 7 tablet and loving the flexibility of simply dropping films/comic books onto the device.
The moral of the story is, choose what's right for *you* whether that be Apple, Blackberry, WP or Android and not because of what other people are saying and this goes for both Apple and Android fanboys.

Im going to say right off the bat, im not an Aapple fan boy or a Samsung.
People bashing the iPhone 5, has anyone stopped to think about what Apple have actually done? not what they haven't?
They have managed to squash close to everything the Samsung Galaxy SIII has (obviously less the quadcore) into a much smaller package. The phone size compared to the S3 is .7" smaller. so they dont have the luxury of more space, they wont make a bigger phone because alot of their business market dont want it so big. And they dont need Quad-core because the software is that good, it runs so smoothly.

Anonymous, 20 Sep 2012iPhone simply moving at its own pace, haters simply furious... moreWhere did you come up with such illogical non sense. No company can look like anything but an angel in comparison to Apple. Propaganda?? Own pace? Just because Apple purposely restricts it's users and people with half a brain can understand this does not conclude to such idiocy that you describe.
WP8 taking over? What drugs you on?

iPhone simply moving at its own pace, haters simply furious at how ineffective their propaganda has been. Simply buying their own lies, Android fanboys who were supposedly open have turned toot to be the most blind, Just like their fave company Google which has been exposed as a bully, "Don't be evil" my foot.
As predicted WP8 is taking over the show while Android is distracted by the wrong opponent. Sorry guys, Nokia, HTC have shown their hand, and even Sony has now considered adopting WP8. RIP Android, the era of WP8 is now upon you.

You hate iPhone since you can't buy or have it. iHaters are full of hate because they are jealous on the fact that fanbois just love their phones. I seldomly read fandroids comment on how they like their phones. They comment more on hating iPhones. Lol. See the difference?

And what did the iPhone users say? Other phones have large screens that make the phone ugly ... And what are they saying now? All hail an apple bitten by a person who is now in heaven (I respect Steve jobs but I hate apple -.- )
