Nokia X20 visits Geekbench with a Snapdragon 480 5G SoC

Considerably Fast than their own 4g predecessors.
They all quite promising.
Why qualcomm doing this?
Thanks to mediatek dimensity series.
All of native those native chipset is FAST and and have good gpu too.
So we can have more options to buy new 5g smartphone.
Instead of buying 1000$ flagship.

    They're fast enough to outperform all of their own predecessor.
    Even some tech youtubers said it too. With this 619 gpu based on sd 865 is will perform well,. Even in a budget smartphones.
    If someone wondering, why qualcomm doing this?
    Thanks to mediatek with their Dimensity lineup.
    They're all fast chipsets faster than their " Helio G" series.
    So yes this sd 480 is quite a promising chipset and it's future proof because it's 5g.
    But i really do want to see Nokia use more powerful 7xx chipset in their next X series with Amoled and stereo speakers. So the midranger competition will be much more crowded and we'll have so many choices to buy new smartphones.

          SD 480 is newer soc, it's siblings are sd 690, 750, 888 etc all of them use newer cores ang Gpu
          -sd 480 has cortex A76 and Adreno 619
          -sd 690 has cortex A77 and Adreno 619L
          -sd 750 has cortex A77 and Adreno 619

          SD 720G, 730, 732 G etc are old soc, SD 480 is better than them but weaker than newer 6xx and 7xx series that's simple logic to understand.

          If it's still hard for you to understand, core i3 11th generation (tiger lake) has twice perfomance of i7 7th generation (Kabylake), that's doesn't mean i3 is better than i7 in same generation, but i3 can be better than i7 from old generation.

            Qualcomm's chip designers are most likely have better 'common sense' than fanatics like someone here who have BLIND FAITH that 480 will 'miraculously' one-upped the MUCH, MUCH expensive SD720G based on THE.SAME.GPU.NAMING!

            Ever heard SD450 beaten SD625 in ANYTHING?
            Ever saw SD460 one-upped SD662/665 in ANYTHING?
            or
            Ever wonder why SD415 (support HD/720p gaming @60fps) equipped with similar GPU name as the notorious SD615 but never beaten it albeit SD615 (support QHD/2K gaming @60fps) known as the crappiest in 6xx lineup?

            Because... THAT'S WHAT WE CALLED MARKETING TRICK!
            Qualcomm ALWAYS introduced ABSURD naming for the CPU (Kyro, Krait, Scorpion) and Adreno xxx but NEVER mentioned the 'real type'
            CPU : Cortex A53/A55/A57/A72/A73/A75/A76/A77/A78
            GPU : clockspeed, support up to HD/FHD/QHD @30/60/90fps

            only people who etiher know how Qualcomm do business, have extensive knowledge about ARM CPU & dabbled in PC GPU, or frequently consulting with Wiki realize this clever trick.

            and from how fervently u defend ur argument, u are not even know what Cortex cores Qualcomm put on either SD450, SD460, & SD480, right?

                RGz, 22 Mar 2021I can agree on some of that, but 2.0gHz 2x A76 cores, and ... moreI think what I meant to say is "going" to be on the low end , if you are going to consider that sd 690 and sd 750, will be replaced by a much more powerful alteration within this year, not to mention the arrival of the upper mid tier chips of sd 860 and sd870, the 480 ranking would be push further to the bottom. Its a good chip no question about it, but Qualcomm has to a lot of better horses in its stable now and a few joining in this next quarter.

                    The costs are expected to skyrocket because of all new 5G RFFE. RF Switches and Switch Modules, Diversity receive modules, Filters, Low noise amplifiers, Antenna tuning modules, Power Amplifier Modules, Power trackers all contributing the inflated prices. 5G smartphones are expensive because of the electronics involved between Baseband and Antennas.

                        yes clock speed play role but also bandwidth, ram, gpu etc, lets wait for benchmarks first, but i will put my money on 480.

I think a lot of people does not understand the GPU would only be one of the components of the CPU and would assume that its more advance/powerful the GPU has a newer number. its quite sad actually that CPU's have been around since the 1970's but a lot of people still dont understand how it works. hahaha.

GPU is only half of the game, clock speed would play a crucial role on all CPU in general, unfortunately no matter how much you believe that 480's would be better than 732g , it will not happen due to the 480's architecture and the way that this chip is marketed, which is on the low end, rather on the mid ship..
