We don't know all the specs yet but it looks to me it's a glass built, there are stereo speakers, since it's Mi line it will probably have good camera with OIS, chin (almost?) non-existant which means they used flexible amoled screen which costs more. The processors they are using are cheaper but if you look how samsung priced its' A line this is still really affordable.
All that stuff actually makes me think what cuts did they do to make it that cheap. Samsung would charge it double for sure.
I am not here to defend xiaomi. I'm using their phone for over 4 years now and I am aware of some things that should be fixed, but you are not realistic with your price and specs expectations.
Luckily we have multiple phone manufacturers so you can pick which one you want to buy.

Xiaomi have a huge opportunity with Huawei crippled yet they still don't get it - there's yet another stupid limited sale due to start in the UK today to finally sell us some Mi11 units ages after the phone was "released".
We'll probably not see either the Pro or the Ultra.

Interesting, Vanilla gets 108 MP while Pro and Ultra gets 50 MP. For tech people, it is an upgrade, because of larger sensor and pixels. While for average consumers that know only specs, this is an downgrade since it will not lure more customers. Mi 11 Ultra maybe will have an upgraded LTPO panel, better ultrawide, maim, tele cameras, better speakers, SD 888, Ip68, different design, bigger and more bulky device with second screen on the back and supee huge camera bump

Its a young, fever, benchmark oriented company, you may get a 192mega pixel samsung camera, 4k amoled screen in future, but basic quality like IP? no way
