            at least if samsung tells you that their phone is $1200, it's $1200.

            but if it's xiaomi, oppo, vivo, or any other chinese phone brand ever (excluding huawei), they'll say that the phone is $650, but it's literally $1000 globally.

                  Pixel Shift needs tripod.
                  The sensor needs time to shift position , something that is not fast like 1/50s.
                  Cameras with this feature take about 1s for the sensor to move.

                            Oppo is the #1 smartphone brand in china and Vivo are pioneers in camera tech. That is far from irrelevant... and why would you want them to merge, they are sister companies so they already share parts or phones between them.. OnePlus, Realme, Oppo and Vivo are owned by BBK Electronics

                              Vivo is Oppo's sister.

                              Vivo has much more autonomy to do what they want.
                              The other two no so much.
                              Reason many devices from RM and 1+ seem to be just rebranded Oppo.
