Anonymous, 26 Mar 2021what!!!!!! snapdragon 480!!!!... what do u thinking nokia..... moreYes other competitors are currently battling with the SD888 and other high end chipsets. And because of that HMD chose to occupy the midrange and entry level market, where they think they will have higher chances of success.

You have to keep in mind that not everyone can afford flagship grade specs and HMD seeks to take advantage of that. If they have been making satisfactory profit with this approach, I don't see any reason for them to try and take a risk in the high end segment unless they come up with something innovative.

I can imagine that big circle filled with macro, depth, and all sort of cheap sensors for appareance purposes... Then look at out hyper mega matrix array of cameras LOL We also have and hyper mega optimized SD480 that with our super mythical and mystical optimizations is faster than the SD870 and the new S780 all together.

Pay only out cheap Premium price: 350 euros ^^ by the face. lol

                    Nokia whoo?

Anonne, 25 Mar 2021Holy heck, €299 and €349 for SD 480? I wonder why? I get it... moreyes, I agreed Samsung was able to adapt with the market, 2 years ago when the new players ,IQOO ,realme, nubia were currently establishing themselves as competitors of Xiaomi on the mid tier phones, they were able to release their own bang for buck M series and lowered their prices on the A series, which in my opinion , made them relevant on that sector. Nokia should learn from them.

Being AndroidOne handsets, timely and quick OS updates was the only positive thing for which Nokia HMD was charging premium price for their handsets with below par specifications. This is not the case anymore. They had promised Android 11 OS updates to couple of their handsets in Q4 2020 and Q1 2021. So far they had manged to provide that update only to Nokia 8.3 and Nokia 3.2. Less than a week is left for the end of Q1 2021. They won't be able to provide Android 11 OS update for remaining handsets within a week period time. So they should not charge premium price to their future handsets as earlier. They had already launched couple of new handsets with Android 10 OS in last 3-4 months. Not sure, how they will be able to update all those handsets with Android 11 before release of Android 12 (August 2021).

Holy heck, €299 and €349 for SD 480? I wonder why? I get it, SD 480 is a new chipset, it's a huge leap from previous SD 4xx chips, capable of 5G, the phones are part of Android One, but come on... are those really worth such price?

Aside from the obvious Redmi and Poco, I guess even Samsung A52 trumps these phones. Nokia branding isn't as powerful as it was, nowadays if one looks for big-brand, Samsung is the one which comes to mind, not Nokia.
