I find this fight over patenting ideas is silly. It seems to do nothing but disrupt the evolution of technology in the industry. (In every industry on that note but lets not spend years debating on that). Next this you know apple will be suing anyone who uses the same glass as them, uses the same anything for that matter. Its silly and childish. Go be innovative, don't discourage improvement on past ideas. You would think that its a good idea to improve on something rather than start something new and make it better. No no no we cant have that says the government, we need to protect ideas in every way possible. Fair enough, but why do people seem to sue for products that are similar to theirs. They are both smart phones. GET OVER IT. Now I'm going to make a call on my trusty 6 year old nokia 6300.....

Real engineers work on true innovations like LTE, which may not have a shape or form and bling effect like the rounded rectangles, cute icons, and bouncing windows... The innovations that real engineers create are far more critical, valuable, and practical than aesthetics to the functioning of an electronic device... LTE takes years and billions of R&D, not bling bling icons and jumpy windows or some self promoted "magical" aesthetic stunt...
BTW, Apple had virtually none and was last in terms of major smartphone companies in LTE related patents until it bought a handful recently hoping to protect itself from the lawsuits it started... Now you tell us what is true innovation and who the true innovators are before trashing anybody...

apple didnt come up with iphone name first lynksis did and apple didnt ivent all of the technology they are claiming go look it up iphone uses samsungs parts in their iphone apple is being childish and im happy that samsung is gonna sue them i beleieve in freedom of choice and all apple wants to do is make it so that the only phone we can buy is theirs

Apple is a smart cheapshot...knowing that they cannot beat Samsung head on in terms of product innovation and quality, it invokes the law and considers themselves as the "victim," in the same way that Netscape sued Microsoft for antitrust a decade ago...yet lost the market. Same thing here, Apple will lose the market and competition in the end. iPhone products are nothing but rehashing wannabes. It is self-evident that Samsung products are superior over Apple...you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out...just use and compare their products and let your experience tell you the truth.

Yours servant should get bigger, strongger, but should never get richer. I will be happy if their r&d cost 10 to 20% revenue, and profit about 20 bil usd. Nothing special...

i'm android fan but i'm sick of all back and forth. Clearly both of these companies have too much money and too much time, personally, i just want to see amazing features in my phones, not a fan of all this watered down operating systems, like what they did to the microsoft os, tsk tsk

iphone should be banned coz they are a major obstacle in the growing technology and they should take a law course coz theyre interested(i think)in law school rather than developing a good phone..NOI..hahaha.

In the past, Samsung make the misstake of standardising power saving 3g tech, and apple just rip off. Now that Apple start the patent war, they wont have power saving 4g for free. Prepare to pay back. Stupid us patent system. In the near future, apple wont get a single license from samsung, htc, nokia, sony, and the sheeps will know the true, after paying a trillion dollars for the biggest lie ever
