Personally I'm glad they finally did this update, the application now feels a lot more fast and responsive and I have no problem in particular with the UI changes. Some people always seem afraid of change even when those changes are really small and inconsequential...

Arrogance and disrespect for users, it's how Spotify has turned now with this new desktop update.
None of the explanations given by the company to justify their choice are making sense.
This new UI is a total lack of respect for artists and power users. It seems that everything has been done for avoid that users get comfortable for creating playlists. It's slow, ugly, not functional at all.
I even wonder if Spotify employes use it. Everything is done to push users for listening only what Spotify wants they listen.
It could be a good lesson for arrogant Spotify company if the competitors beat them with Hi-Fi and Hi-res.

I've been a Spotify Premium user for a while now. But it's probably time to say goodbye.
As a paying user, it's completely unacceptable to have a new UI update PUSHED DOWN MY THROAT when I have NOT EVEN ASKED FOR IT.
I mean, are you guys BLIND? Can't you see the tremendous backlash this stupid ugly new UI has caused? Don't you guys give a single F about the users that are paying for your platform?
I went to the point of downloading an older version of Spotify and writing a shellscript to prevent my Spotify client from updating. Yes, I had to do that because I just DON'T want to use this new user interface. IT. SUCKS. HORRIBLY!
And I DOUBT there is ONE single Spotify employee who would enjoy using this new UI. It is definitely NOT better than the previous version and NONE of the seasoned users are BUYING this BS of explanation you're trying to give us. Really, do you think we're dumb? This new update is NO IMPROVEMENT. We know YOU want to choose what WE should seen first.
Taking the "Made for You" section and throwing it into the Home section so I always have to enter Home and scroll down to FIND it? Also, you showing me playlists I DON'T WANNA SEE before what's really important for me?
This is truly about MANIPULATING WHAT CONTENT USERS SHOULD SEE FIRST.
We are not STUPID. But this new user interface really is.
When you entered an artist's page before, you could see other bands in the "Fans Also Like" section. Where's that section?
The overall UI is TOO SPACIOUS. It's not compact at all. It looks UGLY and TOO BIG. And it's more difficult to find information!!!!! It completely ruined my experience!!!!!!! As I said, I had to run a shellscript to PREVENT my Spotify from updating. I hope that keeps working, since you guys DON'T REALIZE HOW YOU MESSED UP BIG THIS TIME.
It disgusts me to have to spend my time writing to complain about this and see a whole community of dissatisfied users not being cared about.
I swear, if you don't fix this, if you don't go back, if you don't give us at least the possibility of keeping the old version and not upgrading, it will be a GOODBYE. FOR GOOD. AND I HOPE YOU LOSE USERS. YOU CAN REST ASSURED I'M NOT ALONE. YOU, SPOTIFY EMPLOYEE, READING THIS - IF ANY OF YOU REALLY GIVE AN F - YOU KNOW THIS IS TRUE AND THIS NEW UI SUCKS. THIS NEW UI IS NOT BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE. PERIOD.
This explanation is nothing but a bunch of lies to disguise the real reason behind these changes. We don't buy this BS explanation, Spotify team. Really.
What you did is take sections in which the user had freedom and throw them into the middle of other playlists that artists pay you to show first. You think we don't get that? You are MANIPULATING the information that YOU want the user to see FIRST because ARTISTS are PAYING you to do so. And you think we're going to buy this BS explanation? LMAO
Talk about improving USER EXPERIENCE. LOL.
For anybody who cares about UI, UX, design and so on, this new update is a FREAKING NIGHTMARE. WRONG. WRONG. BAD.
And a whole community of paying users complaining and not being heard?

Extremely disappointed with the graphical update on PC. It's very ugly. All elements are so big, that browsing through artists catalogue is very demotivating.
Like somebody else said, I'm paying for a nice experience. It was fine, but it's a pain in the ass now. If this will not be changed back, I'll have to consider Apple Music or something similar. This is unworkable. Too big, clunky, user-unfriendly.

So many features have been removed, and the app is so counter intuitive now. It went from the best music streaming in my opinion to near worst. It was so easy to discover new music. Now it's a chore. Can I get in a class-action lawsuit for being subjected to this downgrade?

This new update is absolutely crap, I pay for my spotify experience & should not be subject this. Instead of making the experience more intuitive you have done the exact opposite, I can no longer cater my playing queue the way I want & can only see fifty of the tracks in the list. Change the interface back as this flaming turd should not exist, utter utter garbage.

I hate the update. It's insanely ugly, album covers are slow to load, the app often breaks or is unbearably laggy. This was absolutely unnecessary. I'm planning on cancelling my subscription if this isn't reverted.

Personally I prefer the older version, as everything was right where I needed it and I had already gotten used to the layout. It was way easier to navigate because everything was right there when u needed it. Now after the update it is a little laggy and I am unable to use search as nothing comes up. I am also unable to view an artists home page or whatever u would like to call it. Can someone please ask to make the old version accessible to those who wish to use it?

Imo it looks really bad, like, the previous one looked great, it was nice and smooth and now its just weird and uncomfortable. Also i don't understand why would you remove tabs like "local files" and the other ones from the right side, it was easy to find and now you have to look fr them like its a hide and seek game.
