Personally, i don't mind working with Zune (it's lightweight and fast comparing it with iTunes). And all this limitations can be passed when rooting the WP device. So... i keep looking around but i can't seem to see any prison bars.

Nokia announced that "All Nokia Lumia smartphones" (WP 8 and lower versions of WP OS) will have updates. One of the updates inlcude,
"Bluetooth file transfer to send media files via Bluetooth from your Lumia device to any other phone".
If it will be implemented to Lumia smartphones (which uses WP OS), then there will be a great chance that not only Lumia smartphones, but all WP OS devices will receive that update too.
I dont own any Lumia device but it will be great if both WP and Android can share files via Bluetooth. Forget about iOS! It will be left behind in Bluetooth file sharing.

To install various apps you have to hack (jailbreak) the phone, and again you wont be able for some installations or customizations. Bluetooth also is only for earpieces and likes, but not for file transfer.

BUT if nokia launches this phone that will mean that they will continue selling wp7.8 devices together with the wp8 devices. That will also mean that they want to keep supporting the older devices, they want developers to continue with developing wp7.8 apps. wp8 runs on the latest hardware, making them high-end devices while wp7.8 runs on older hardware making them low-end devices. I use a lumia 710 which is running wp7.5 and it will receive the wp7.8 update. Launching this device means that they also want to sell really cheap wp devices and it also means that olders windows phones will be kept as up to date as possible. Android doesn't do this, they install android on low-end devices too, these phones have the same possibilities as the high-end androids BUT there are lots of apps which you can install while they will run very laggy on your device. every app you can install on your wp device is guaranteed to run very well. I do have to say this counts for all wp devices except for the lumia 610, it is the only one which sometimes lags, if you go for a wp7.8 device I recommend at least the lumia 710.
both wp8 and wp7.8 look the same but wp8 devices offer some new features and the newer hardware will be able to run apps which demand higher specs.

But WP has only one limitation that u cannot share data over bluetooth to other devices except WP phone

-No direct connection to PC
-Transfering files to windows needs zune and ios needs i tunes..
-All these are not needed for android and android is hugly customizable
- Only itunes or zune compatible files can save on the phone memory..
so buying an ios or wp clearly means buying a prison to our own world
