22 September, 2012
The iPhone 5 made easy work of the competitors in browsing tests and its GPU did quite well, too.

Who should we believe? Other benchmarks rank iPohne5 one of the worst in 1080p Playback:

The samsung g s3 its comming up on 6mth old now thats pretty big considering the technology these devices can catch up on to other mobile devices.

The LG Optimus G came shorter in browser benchmarks - just like every other device (way to go Apple) - and slightly in the GL but the LG has higher res than the iPhone and the difference between framrates isn't that big. For iLovers that own a 4S the 5 is a good upgrade. For people that just want a powerfull phone, the iPhone 5 just isn't good enough and it will be outdated in less than a month - already is.
But iLovers won't mind that and keep buying the most expensive phone ever, even if it's not the best phone ever as well. :)

Anonymous, 26 Sep 2012And this is exactly why Samsung should never have gone away... moreSo what in the Mali-400 specs that puts it near the top of the benchmarks do you see as small?

And this is exactly why Samsung should never have gone away from PowerVR(original SGS).Instead they went with GPU called Mali(it means "small" in my language, btw.) :D

Because if the cult of Steve Jobs tells them something's better then their years of Apple conditioning tell them they must be telling them the truth.
I mean I'm an Atheist and convincing an iFan they wrong is exactly the same as trying to convince someone God doesn't exist.

Like I said, let them first compare the iP5 to a phone running JellyBean(SGS3, HTCOneX etc) and then iFans can brag all they want if the iP5 still tops the benches or at least come in the top 3.

AnonD-47949, 25 Sep 2012This is true...I presume you saw the video with the galaxy ... moreYeah the Nexus is the closest thing there is to a Google optimised phone because they always use Nexus to release the newest Android version, but even on Jellybean there's still a butt load more power to be extracted from the Nexus and every other Android phone.
So iPhone 5 being slightly ahead of S3 on ICS means nothing when simply upgrading to Jellybean will add a good 20% extra performance and plenty more to come from future upgrades and will completely blow the iPhone 5 into the water and give the iFans less to brag about.

AnonD-56991, 25 Sep 2012Yeah Jellybean has improved benchmark scores on S3 by close... moreThis is true...I presume you saw the video with the galaxy nexus running JellyBean compared to the SAME GALAXY NEXUS running ICS? They used a high speed camera and you see the HUGE difference in performance...you'd swear they rigged it with new hardware, they didnt...just the OS changed :)

And this is why some people end up paying more money for much less or the same stuff.

For those of you who didnt watch the vid

                        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCVMvvXHqxU

So then, those of you who dont know that there were 2 different OS on 2 of the SAME device would say the galaxy nexus on the right had better hardware?

                        Yea, right :)

Facts are facts, iOS6 utilizes the iphone 5's hardware better. I'm yet to see the iphone 5 do a benchmark test with a smartphone running JellyBean, THEN will I accept the A6 being crowned. Other than that, its too soon to start a monarchy :P

And people have to understand that Android is designed to work on hundreds of different phones and optimised for none, so optimising the OS to make best use of the CPU/GPU is and endless task.
But Apple just have to make the A6 work with 1 phone so can be perfectly optimised even though the iPhone is just so limited and restrictive you'll almost never use all power where Android can.

At least you can stick with a quad core phone for a while...and still use it to run heavy apps that are to be made(in the near future).

To get a bigger screened device...you'd have to wait for it between the period of the iphone 7 to the iphone 10s :)

Let me put this in lehman terms for those who did not receive the blessing of common sense.

The A6 is NOT faster than most of those processor's from the other smartphones. The iOS6 software utilizes the processor better than android software(as always) therefore "freeing up" the already outdated "customized" processor, and voilà! you have a "faster processor"

Test it by itself against the others and you will see the difference.
