While phones don't match DSLR's in camera, there's just no reason for them to not match dedicated audio players. See LG's Quad DAC for example.
Secondly, don't conveniently forget that no matter how cheap wireless headphones go, they're either lower quality or higher price than wired ones even today. The figure right now is around 4 times, i.e. to get same quality in wireless you spend 4x more.
For example, Mi basic headphones (wired) costing Rs. 400 and wireless basic ones costing Rs. 1599. The advanced wired ones cost Rs. 800, while the Mi Airpods or so cost around Rs. 3600. Tell me one wireless headphone costing Rs. 800??
Even a USB-C is a rubbish concept, putting a DAC on the earphone itself, which by the way is a trend now.
I don't subscribe music, I purchase them FLAC's from the local store as they rip.

And those people who say, "Audiophiles can't use audio-oriented phones?", May I ask who died and elected them Popes? If it suits our needs, then why not exactly?

Cloud is never in your control, you don't even know where your data is physically. Let the company decide to close it or change conditions, then I'll talk about your options. Not to mention, privacy fears and low internet speeds and general unreliability due to this.
Accessories are ok, as long as they're not made to fleece you of your money. USB so far is ok, but USB-C headphones is cancer.
Accepted your point regarding batteries, except its making phones heavier. Under 150 grams phones are a rarity nowadays, and they're getting huge as well. Simply no options exist for the light user, although my 6 year old, 134 grams, 4.7 inch screen Redmi 2 Prime is working ok, what's so bad about its size and weight?
I'm from the Nokia days, I've seen lighter smartphones doing everything we do today, with 2-3 days battery nice and easy.

You gave a good lecture, but where are the facts to back it up? Everything is getting bloated while it doesn't have to be, this is today's truth because some customers can't sort their wishes properly.
And like I said---> just 1 option should exist in the market for actually intelligent customers, and we won't complain. Problem is, even that 1 option is missing, because you guys stopped thinking and you speak for everyone...

Samath N8 808 owner, 01 Apr 2021You're right in expecting something as a consumer, I&#... moreEverything that you said can be given contra examples. Because when the industry is moving in a certain direction, then everybody will follow, multiple options become available and prices are not so high anymore.

Wireless headphones are no longer considered expensive, because they are so many options out there. And are actually pretty good. Of course, somebody can't considered himself some kind of audiophile and buy a phone with 3.5mm jack for that. There are 1 million other ways to listen to quality music than a smartphone. But, I don't want to get into detail discussion about this. Bottom line, Bluetooth headphones are very good nowadays and quality is nice for your music subscription app.

Storage options nowadays are nice extra to have, but there are clouds options too. More safe, more simple. And it's what, 2-5EUR per month for 1TB storages. I use only cloud storage with my phones and I don't need to think about copying stuff or other things when I get a new phone. I just put my account/password and that's it.

Regarding the accessories, this is actually why I think the industry should move in that direction. Wouldn't be better to have just one accessory to charge your tablet, phone, smartwatch, etc.? And, imo, the market will move in this direction at some point.

Because the industry moved away from swapping batteries, companies have begun thinking of ways and coming with better solutions for battery management. We have now phones even with 6000-7000mah. Even iphones have become very good in this. The new iphone 12 Pro Max is a powerhouse when it comes to battery life.

Cloud storage is not that expensive. See my previous point. 2-5EUR per month. If you consider that pricey, than I am sorry for you. I mean people complain about 5EUR cloud storage subscription, but have no problem in paying tens of euros for movie, music or gaming subscriptions. I mean, really?

Bottom line, when the industry is moving in some direction, is not necessarily a bad thing. And many other good things come from it. People just need to see the half of the glass that's full, not the empty half. We can't all be melancholically now and think how things were 10-20 years ago. Just look ahead and embrace changing.

I do not know is it same about phones while recording 4k/8k videos?! last thing about resolution is focusing and capture speed, though many things are effective, but in my case, my K10 is faster than LG G4 while taking a picture, my LG K10 (which since yesterday won't turn on idk did it cause by battery or bootloop) btw is always take shot faster but G4 almost is slow or does't take picture sometimes, 13 MP vs 16 MP.

But what you want comes at a terrible cost to those who actually use their phones well, and one day they won't have a choice due to your (& your kind's) anti-behaviour. And its happening already...
We are shelling out more money for head/ear phones.
We are shelling insane amount of money for extended memory options,
We are shelling out solid money for pointless accessories like Lightning, USB and such,
We are shelling out big money for powerbanks, as swapping battery is no longer a thing,
We are shelling out money for cloud storage when we have 0 physical control over it,

At a time, this industry was supposed to rival dedicated audio players, small cameras, etc. and today, how cleverly they've steered away from this direction by getting the customer debating on useless stuff like portless design... although we're catching up in camera.

In the end, I don't mind one portless phone (even if such a thing is possible), I'd complain only when I can no longer find one alternative from the older days, which does things right, that's it... I got a LG G8x, and I hope I can find a successor years later...
