Actually I do not expect a huge increase in performance as I said earlier, but rather the newest security and features matter the most. You can expect Apple A15 to use the newest ARMv9 architecture first, followed by Mediatek hopefully the latest 2022. Qualcomm should use that architecture for the Cortex X2 core chipsets (X1 is still at ARMv8). ARMv8 is getting pretty outdated and if I’m not mistaken that dates back to 2011 it was first introduced.

Nick Tegrataker, 31 Mar 2021Finally, no more 32-bit app support! Good riddance. The best part?

'After an extensive analysis, the company concludes that Armv9 architecture is not subject to the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Additionally, Arm has already informed the responsible U.S. government agencies of this. And the company will continue to comply with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s guidelines for Huawei and its affiliate HiSilicon.

In other words, this chip-making company opened the gate for Huawei HiSilicon to use the v9 architecture and adds the capabilities to help the company’s chips handle machine learning.'

Hope that means the dated A55 cores can be replaced with something better and more advanced.
