Alex, 01 Apr 2021Yup, no dc dimming... a very bad trend for xiaomi nowadays.... moreVery few phones actually have it because it is extremely expensive to implement and on oled screens the lowering of the voltage supplied to the screen can lead to inaccuracy in colours. PWM would be fine if the speed of it was increased to say 450-500hz. A lot of manufacturers will also neglect it because the negative affect on the eyes is not anywhere near as bad on screens with high refresh rates. 60hz amoled users might sufffer but not 120-144hz amoled users. Also, it only affects some people so it's asking for a solution to be implemented on a global scale for an issue that will not affect the majority necessarily so they are probably thinking to get the costing down to allow these levels of phones to be sold at cheaper prices, this is a corner worth cutting. I mean you're having a go at Xiaomi but the whole Samsung S21 series has no DC dimming.

I can't believe folks here are complaining about battery when it's a massive battery for a 156 gram phone.
This phone is supposed to be lightweight and 4000 mAH battery is absolutely amazing for the weight and thin frame.
If you want a 5000 mAH phone then please consider going for 100s of other options available. For the weight it comes at, it's one of a kind phone. I'm just concerned that they haven't launched this in India.
This is the only phone I've been interested in purely due to it's weight. Mi 9 SE was also a lightweight phone that never made it to India.
I don't know why Xiaomi doesn't launch any phone less than 190 grams in India. The only lightweight options we have are overpriced Google Pixel and the ultra expensive iPhone and Samsung S21.
I would happily buy this on launch day. Please launch in India.

Not a bad phone, scores 160 for both CPU/GPU in Antutu. Uses about 16mAh/min under load compared to 22mAh/min on both the Snapdragon 870 and 888.
So even with the smaller battery capacity of 4250mAh, this thing should outlast all of Xiaomi's flagship chipset phones.

Hole in corner is ugly. Symetrical in middle seems much better. Batery is low, 2021 phone = 5000+.
For me.. Note 10 lite still better.

Looks like a good overall package. It probably doesn't have DC dimming and then it's not usable for me.

Although a headphone jack adapter is a kind of a port converter. In this case type-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack. So the whole deal is that you can loose that adapter easily and it might break quicker then a port. The charging and listening simultaneously problem isnt much of a hassle.
