It won because it looked the best on a social media story, we could not see their actual processed images. Had it not been for social media compression algorithm, then the Zenfone 7 would lose in the first battle straight away. The phones that would've made it to the end would be the Mate 40 pro and the Mi 10 Ultra

Do you mean washed out colors, pics where the camera consistently fails to get the white balance right? While rest of the phones, many of which were 1/3rd the price get things like white balance spot on.

Unfortunately there's no video and just the one picture. I guess we will see real results when Jerryrigeveryhting gets his hands on one! I would be disappointed if they did let this structural integrity slip with their flagship

                It sure has good specs and beats most flagships but there is one very serious caveat of the Mi 11 Ultra. It fails the durability test just like the ROG Phone 5:

                  2) no SDcards... Like all flagship Xiaomis and S21-series ;)
                  3) Slower storage? It's actually the fastest you can find on a smartphone (NVME). Equivalent to a desktop NVME PCIe-express.
                  4) no DDR5. And? They are still fast DDR4X are as fast as DDR5.
                  5) no manual modes? It does actually have manual modes like all the other smartphones.
                  6) screen misses piece. What piece does it miss?
                  7) excess of bass... Actually not.
                  8) heat issues. That's actually true. But so do most of the current flagships with SD888 SoCs.
                  9) no Gorilla 6. True. It uses an Apple and Corning(creator of Gorilla Glas) co-developed ceramic shield that withstands better shatters.
                  10) no toolless sim tray. Like 98% of smartphones.
                  11) worst ultra wide. In which way? It has actually one of the best distortion correction. The picture quality is good too.

                      Apple just cutting costs so they can make more profit.
                      Xiaomi flagship like Mi 10 ultra will always age better than iPhone can.

                        That's why they keep showing pictures of their iphones with wallpapers that black out the top of the screen to hide the ugly putrid notch that makes the phone's bezel look grossly asymmetrical. Such incompetent amateurs!
                        Best part of the iPhone 12 series update is the invisible charging brick.

                            And the S21 series will get many more updates/optimizations for years after the M11 Ultra will be EOL(end of life) by the manufacturer.
                            Zenphone 7pro "won" against the iPhone 12 Pro Max in picture quality? Your personal opinion is not a fact.
                            The Mi10 Ultra (a China ONLY phone) will get this autumn it's last update (Android 12) and then finito. Don't expect more firmware support afterwords (expect a couple MIUI which is only UI). S21 Will get Android 14 (2023/24) and security updates until 2025.

                            I am an Android user myself (used iPhone in the past), but are you writing tons of things that are FAR away from the reality... Did you ever used an iPhone?
                            It's a different OS, with different requirements. Not "everyone" wants an Android. Thanks to Apple's long-term support, iPhone prices are stable and easy to sell. It's not a status symbol anymore, as it was years ago. At least not anymore in Europe...

                                The MI 10 ultra was already better than Samsung flagship last year image processing wise.
                                Nobody wants third class support on iOS where you get latest features a decade late.
                                Even budget Android has better software than iOS which is nothing but a handicapped mess.

                                  Camera, GPU, CPU, quality, 6+ years software support, after sale support,... All these are at the top-end of the spectrum in this price range. On the contrary, the Xiaomi Mi Ultra will get the same software support as a mid-range Mi10 Lite... 2 years + some UI updates. You get less at 1200 Euro with an Xiaomi than with an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

They are tiny so not many use cases apart from the very basic one. I guess mobile gaming, however the putrid controls hold it back.

                                    If you want the best of the best (in specs) you need a foldable. Especially when tri foldables become a thing and (then) we will finally have a laptop in our pockets (once unfolded)

                                      The rest are similar, however I expect from an ultra high end to have the best of the best. Samsung used to be that, now Xiaomi is.

                                      Iphone is a midrange phone well optimized , apart from lidar everything else is behind its time. People buy it as a fashion statement, which is OK, but thats not what tech is about...

                                        Never been let down by a xiaomi product and look forward to trying out one of these new beauties! I would happily use a mi11 ultra over an s21 ultra or iphone 12 pro max, but it's all about personal preference.
