There is a people that care about user experience (ui, upates, world wide avaliability, good customer support, even brand idemtity) than pure specs, and vice versa. Their specs is not bad just xiaomi too good specs wise.

I have an M21. Bought it last summer. I'm pleased with it. It does enough for me. I don't play games so this phone was the best choice because I wanted something cheaper. Battery last long enough. I think I'll stick with Samsung from now on. Maybe jump to A series in 2 or 3 years.

xiaomi has a cult status in the midrange group and updates and IP68 wont really beat out performance (custom roms are a thing, besides people who buy xiaomi know about the lack of updates and dont care, which is why they buy xiaomi in the first place)
