Dometalican, 01 Apr 2021Your opinion is invalid if you want LESS competition. Not that LG was giving much competition anyway. Maybe just with the name.
Same like HTC and Nokia.
People are too nostalgic about this companies.
Not that I wish they will fail, but if they can’t understand the market and can’t update accordingly, it’s better they just quit.
So yeah, I don’t think they will be missed by too many people. Maybe some nostalgic fanboys each and there. That’s it.

LG is biggest scam of electrical and electronics items, they never thought about the customer benifit, their service are very bad and not trusted. As per my experience LG costly products are working stopped within 2 years, and customer are more pay to LG for repair and repair or replacement, this way LG lies with customers and making money from customer. LG technology is worsted among the all World. Because they didn't respond properly and their products are scrap after maximum 2 or 3 years and do not buy again because you feel that LG make a fool to every people. Also they not upgraded their item software or hardware f

It would be a real shame if they close their mobile business for good after all. Ever since I first saw the V50 and its DualScreen case, I am immediately in love with LG. I really don't realize that there is actually a capable flagship smartphone that can really fight the more popular brands for a really competitive price. It's just that there are so little marketing done and available region for LG phones. If LG ramps up the marketing and focuses on selling their phones in more countries while keeping the competitive prices, I'm pretty sure they can recoup their losses back in almost no time.

Goodbye, LG. I know many people hated LG phones but I will always love my LG G5. I still have it. My favorite smartphone ever. Bought the unlocked one for $350 from B&H and don't regret it. It wasn't my first G5 though as I had a Sprint variant with FM radio. I think the LG skin can show lag but it's not too bad on the G5. It will slow down if it overheats.
I'm thinking of buying a V20 but this time in silver for old time sake. But the problem is the size. The G5 and V20 are very similar as I owned both together for 2 years. I just feel the G5 feels better in the hand and is the max size for me. I'm just not a fan of large phones. The differences between my G5 and V20 were minimal except in size.
If you ask me, I had much better experiences with LG than HTC. Every HTC phone I had gave me problems. Made more beautiful devices but that's it. I think it's about time LG leaves the mobile market. Sony could be next. The market comes down to Apple vs Samsung vs the Chinese.

My only experience was with stylo 4 it was terribly underpowered and flawed. I had to buy a new phone for the basics.

Njogy, 01 Apr 2021Sony, Motorola, and Nokia stay tunedSony wouldn't die for sure... Look at their Balance sheets. They have their desired market right now and are making profits without selling bulks... So would sure survive, and the management did an amazing job resisting their survival for long terms rather than jumping into a ruthless competition of do or die!

LG's biggest downfall was their lack of marketing. If they had put in the effort to market the their awesome devices, they wouldn't be in this predicament.

This is what you get when you sell basicly same experience than everyone else except Apple. Too many players sharing the same cake and this is result, next htc?

Roman5, 01 Apr 2021very sad to hear this, however, let's be honest, LG ha... moreAgreed. I mean I have fond memories of my G4 and G5 (though I'll admit the latter did have it's issue's), but LG themselves have done little to avert this eventuality.

I am sorry, they had some great models in the past, but in a way it was expected. They just lost it. Their models were so bland these last years, and the competition is stronger than ever..

Hey LG, forget the gimmicks. Double down on having the best video software, best audio hardware, forget having multiple phones covering different tiers, put in some hella good camera hardware. Pure android experience with the OS. Add back the headphone jack, and sd card. Make sure phone has 5G. Plastic back is fine. Price phone under $700 and go for less margin and higher sales volume. And make it Google Fi compatible as well.
