Probably the only brand left in the market which didn't compromise on features in its flagship models in the name of innovation. For so many years, LG continued to retain IP68 rating, OIS, MicroSD support, DAC, headphone jack, FM Radio and notification LED (atleast till G7+ which is my current phone).
I couln't find a proper upgrade-worthy model after this as V60 never came to India. Will miss LG

Amoled is far superior anf has been for many years, jesus. Micro Leds are still away and will not make much of the difference on a smarrphone as smarthpones last 3 years before replaced, micro leds will make sense on laptops and TV, not phones.

When I put it on a suitable surface, the speaker really BOOMS too with legit bass and fullness. The cameras are still decent. If I've got to get an upgrade a few years from now, I want a good phone with a top-notch LCD screen, but I have little hope for that. I can't wait for micro-LED's to be on phone screens though.

April 1st post..... Can't trust it

kupfernigk, 01 Apr 2021Sony has merged its phone division and we're seeing th... moreAbsolutely! The credit goes to Kazuo Hirai! He initiated the motives behind the One Sony idea. Which failed initially but later got stable with time.

V60 is a downgrade in everyway except the dac and main lens , but V50 is a true upgrade to V40 you'll get an enormous battery life 8h-10h SOT.

Should I trust the April 1st post? 😅
If it's true, it's sad. We need good competition from different parts of the world.
I wish LG would have made vanilla Android type UI with some enhancements.
I pray for those who lost their jobs during such time, would get it soon or LG reallocates them in different divisions.

I love my LG power X 3 smartphone. Never had a problem with it.
To be clear, I own several LG Smart TVs.

Sad to see the phones go.

LG could invent safe for eye OLED and market it.

Anonymous, 01 Apr 2021G5 was a flop.. G2 was a master piece.. what happend LG ???The G4.

The G5 suffered from the terrible reputation of the G4. Major class action lawsuits over the defective hardware resulting in bootloops and screen defects.

If LG hadn't botched that device they might have been able to pass Samsung who at the time offered the rather unpractical S6 without an SD card slot, or water resistance, or removable battery (that couldn't handle the SoC and 1440 display).

I am still using LG G7+ Thinq. It is a very good mobile in every aspect. Battery is average but wireless a nd fast charging deals with that. It is been 2.5 years and I never had any complaints about it. But they are shutting down. There are amny many reasons but a few of them are from a Indian perspective as big market.
                        - They never launch all models here. M still waiting for LG V60 5G.
                        - They change specs for this region.
                        - Software update comes late as compare to others.
                        - Service is costly and poor.
                        - Too much hype before product launch and product spec didn't match that.
                        - Downgrade almost every department. From Screen to Audio.

People here are so much willingly want to buy LG phone but in search or wait for so long they choose different brand. My friends owns LG phones almost 7 as I can remember. I was 6th who brought and still have LG.
After V40 I can say they downgrade everything instead of upgrade. I want to buy V60 but everytime i had a through of just FHD Display where m using QHD.

I can say that if they have had launched at least 60% of there models in India, the numbers would have been something different.
Hope they didn't stop development of mobile. There upcoming news about foldable and rollable display is something i want to go for.
So sad to hear this news.

I'm already passed the iOS vs Android nonsense. I don't care. It's a phone. Not politics. But props to LG for all the good things they did. Don't just focus on their bad.

How about double tap to wake they copied from Nokia that they put on the G2? They still gave us removable battery, IR blaster, and FM radio during the mid-2010s. We got QHD from the G3. We got wide-angle with the G5. They stepped it up helping Google with the Nexus 4 and 5 as Matias Duarte stated in 2012 on The Verge. We got the cool Wing last year.

You say good riddance, LG. I say goodbye and thank you. It's not like every product Apple, Samsung, and Google were all perfect either. All products from all companies have flaws. Perfection in tech is impossible. It keeps evolving. What's perfect today is flawed tomorrow.

                            April’s fool 😐

I've looked at LG phones a number of times, but never pulled the trigger for one of two reasons. (1) They cheaped out on some hardware component for no clear reason; or (2) They insist on an obnoxious and intrusive skin. After my experience with TouchWiz, I won't buy skinned Android anymore. Those seem like pretty easy problems to fix, and it has baffled me for years why they don't.

I use my LG G4 since 2017 and it is still better than most of today's midranges... And LG is tryna do something new witg their every phone... For ex. The Wing... That was an concept that none of other brands didn't even think of... And also their user interface is better than most of other OSs and im telling that by the experience... The best way to LG to earn profit is, doing a collab, for example with Samsung (as they both are Korean) if any of the people in LG reads this, please don't give up on mobile phones as there are still LG mobilr fans left out there🥺

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2021Chinese phones have taken over because they are cheap, not ... moreChinese phone have taken over because they are good and cheaper at the same time.

Do you really think I bought the OnePlus 8 pro because it was cheap? Nope.. I bought it because it was simply better than any other offering. My eyes were on the S20 ultra. But I didn't want pay Rs. 40k extra for an inferior phone with the disastrous Exynos chipset.

This year I'll buy Mi 11 Ultra over the overpriced S21 Ultra (Exynos again) simply because it is better in almost every department.

I only buy flagships while you never bought anything above 400€ in your life.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2021Yes garbage. Besides the best video capture off any mobile ... moreNo their cameras are sub par let alone "the best". Don't give me that nonsense. LG has never used a single telephoto lens, only downgraded their ultrawide camera sensor resolution since the V50, etc. The main camera sensor is the only thing they're alright at.

And the DAC does not excuse all the other awful aspects of their phones. You don't buy a garbage car for the good speakers just as you don't buy a garbage phone for the headphone jack.

Now let's list what makes their phones garbage,

                                    -Nonexistent software support
                                    -Nonexistent software optimization
-Only downgraded displays. Not a single one has been released at a higher refresh rate than 60hz, and they've gone from 1440p to 1080p in their flagship line.
                                    -Slow as hell charging speeds.
                                    -Notches and holes everywhere.
-Overspending on useless certifications rather than better specs. (MIL, IP)
-Awful SoCs in every single one of their overpriced non-flagship phones. We're talking SD600 series chips in $400 phones and SD700 series chips in $700 phones. (How the heck is $700 supposed to be considered mid range)
-Not a single one of their sub $400 phones offers an OLED display. Despite them literally manufacturing their own OLED displays.

Lg always pioneer great technology but never perfected anything. They pioneer QHD screen but with the display panel that is dim and not accurate. Their batteries are the worst on any phone, I can use 3 batteries a day on my g3, g4, g5 and v20 and within 2 year the motherboard will be dead. They should have learnt from Samsung and apple that anything you offer to costumers should be simple and efficient. Good screen, good battery life, good looking interface and targeted class for each model. Nobody wants lg flex, or detachable lg g5 and lg wings for flying. Lastly, Naming and marketing their products was poor. The name GALAXY really helped Samsung alot not names like lg v30 thinQ or k4.
