We also get an idea of which companies are making the displays for this year's upcoming foldables.

Prefer the original fold size and it's easier to hold with the thinner profile. Would welcome the original fold physical size without the bezels for the front screen

With a front and back case on my Z Fold 2 no longer has a gap when closed and it doesn't add much additional bulk. The front screen is good for just general day to day tasks and I have no problem with the keyboard size. Then when needed the inner screen is amazing for games, YouTube or running 2 or more apps at the same time. Add to this samsungs software is getting better and with Goodlock there is so much customization in tandem with Nova Launcher or HD 3D Launcher

This would be great news! The ZF2 is too big. The OG Fold is perfect, they just needed to utilize the entire cover instead of having those huge bezels.

The outer screen on the Mate X2 is perfectly usable. This? Just a little..please don’t make it smaller 😬

Useless then...Before buying the fold 2, I borrowed my friend fold2. The outer screen is like a long candy bar. It is completely useless. You need most of the time open the fold. Imagine now the out screen is getting narrower, smaller and perhaps longer! Huawei mate 2 is very good, unfortunately does not support Google services due to the ban unless you side loaded.

We need a bigger outer screen to have a practical phone that can transform to a mini tablet. If i don t have a big screen to do all the things i need on my way i really don t want it because that means i can use it only when i am in my couch at home

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2021Does anyone here actually have a Galaxy Fold? Is there real... moreyes it's the best thing ever for me, my Note 20U now hurt my eyes with how small the screen is, but I use my phone a lot, if you use it only for ocasional texting and taking pictures any regular size smartphone should be fine

if it folds on the X axis instead of Y axis and the screen is smaller in diagonal but closer to 16:9 or 18:9 ratio and it's compatible with the Spen I'd offer like $3k for it in a heartbeat

EDIT: I'm getting excited, I just measured my inner screen from the bottom left to middle point right and guess what, it's 5.6", if they really do this I'll be the freaking first one to preorder the fold 3

and i really wish Samsung would made a more pocketable Galaxy Note Mini/Lite with 5" infinity screen perhaps?

That's like a downgrade when Fold 2 had basically normal "small" display. Samsung, what are you doing?!

They just can't get the outer screen right.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2021Does anyone here actually have a Galaxy Fold? Is there real... moreI'm with you, normal phones are plenty big enough these days - there's nothing I want to do on the move that requires a tablet sized display.
It's not like you end up with that much more area for watching content because the format of the inner screens result in black bars unless you want to miss half the film.
The smaller foldables almost make sense but I don't see the need for adding extra fragility and complexity to what is already an elaborate piece of technology.
I can almost get behind the rollable concept...almost, the extra screen estate offered is too small to offset the cost and complexity.

Hopefully, the smaller screen means either a few 3rd screen only for notifications, or a new camera array?

Does anyone here actually have a Galaxy Fold? Is there really any practicality for it? I just don't see myself in any situation where I'm on my phone and thinking, "Aww, I wish I could unfold this and make it a little bit bigger! It would totally be worth that extra 1000 or 1500 dollars!"
Maybe it's just me, but I see more practicality in the Galaxy Flip - taking a fairly large phone and making it more pocketable and portable. I'd have one if it weren't for that stupid gap. I really hope Samsung can make the next one fold more like the Moto Razr flip phone.

Jhon998, 07 Apr 2021Like, why? It should be bigger. Or they just wanna save cost. They want to keep an s-pen in fold 3. And I think that's the reason why they are reducing the screen size. Because there are no other places to store an s-pen in foldable.

Was that size not the same as the Galaxy Fold and all Costumer complain because it was to small? At Galaxy Z Fold2 they make it bigger because of the complain and now smaller again. OMG!

Ofcourse i know they must open it as a tablet, but if you have no time to open it and only need the front sceen for a view moment, It will be always not nice to look on a small screen
