Aldwin123, 13 Apr 2021Not all are fake. Samsung Moon Mode is not fake. It is not ... moreHuawei's method hasn't been proven to be fake either (the original test results were not replicable, see Android Authority's statement). I'm assuming both of them relies on a burst multi-frame stacking to increase the resolution as much as they can then cleverly interpolate the missing information, and that's why the moon shots look somewhat off compared to the actual photos of the moon taken by a dedicated camera.

Honestly, the other sections of the article were pretty well written, and for the most part I do agree with the author - it's just that the comparison part is so hilariously awful and unprofessional that I strongly doubt if any sort of checking processes took place before it was published.

Trust me, I agree with you 100% per the usual (still love your smartphone concept. Type M for magnet ports should be something to target the future).

Dometalican, 13 Apr 2021I would have definitely preferred that they worked more on ... moreThe underdisplay camera tech is honestly a bad idea the way it was designed, looking through a partially opaque surface (except when voluntarily trying to have a filter of course) would never give good result for photography, the results of the second gen underdisplay camera were probably far from good enough, which must have forced them to ditch it.
Let's be honest, the 20 didn't have much of a success, if anything it seriously hit badly on the underdisplay camera hype, so they can't release something that isn't a massive improvement, mainly at this price.
The Samsung patent for underdisplay camera being basically an internal pop up was actually a good idea :
                      https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-under-display-camera-phone-1188611/
Though it is probably one of those many patents that will never lead to anything.
With such a solution, you would have real privacy as unlike the pixel OFF solution that despite what people believed still allowed to see through, albeit with a much lesser quality, here the camera is physically blocked, and the quality wouldn't have been hit the slightest, also the cost would have been much lower (the Axon 20 was probably sold as a huge net loss), while allowing any biometric to be used without reduced security, and without any supposed weakness of the pop up.

One thing though, why do you put 90Hz in the list of Cons?
I mean, 60Hz with the trend effect I can understand that one would want a faster refresh rate in 2021 despite being actually totally fine and more than enough for most users, but isn't 90Hz quite good?

Dometalican, 13 Apr 2021I would have definitely preferred that they worked more on ... moreWhat's so shocking about this? Camera is one of the most important features in a smartphone. That is fact.

I would have definitely preferred that they worked more on the under-display selfie cam as that would have justified the price.

Also, camera as 1, camera as 2, and camera as 3...dear Lord, do people seriously think the camera is the most important aspect in a phone? It's like it could come with a 3,000mAH battery (I know it won't), 90Hz refresh rate, and mid-range processor and these people wouldn't bat an eye.

It looks like 99% of the phones on sale right now. Because it's made in the same factory as the rest of them.
