LG Wing is now much cheaper in India

12 April 2021
The price cut is massive, as the company is probably clearing remaining stock.

It LG wing available in Zambia, and how much is it in Zambian kwacha?

Despite my ... moreWell yes that does make sense with high power applications since good software can't solve everything (but is still VERY important regardless). Although, not only are you comparing two phones that are 3 years apart in this example, it's funny you say this now yet you're the same person who was trying to trash on this phone for using a slightly midrange SoC that compares in performance (and in benchmark scores, something you love oh so much!) to the flagship SoC that was hardly a year old when this phone was new. It just doesn't make sense at all.

TheWildShadow55, 03 May 2021But have you used a midrange device is the question? You se... moreMy favorites list is the phones I've used. Despite my OnePlus One being vastly more optimized and smooth than my V30 in a lot of scenarios, due to it's much weaker chipset it was simply not viable as there were places where optimization could not stop it from lagging. It stuttered in many places due to a lack of power. Because optimization does not win over raw power. But no no no, question my experience with lower end phones. I installed that ROM on the OnePlus One. I know what I'm talking about.

joe nodden, 03 May 2021Pretty sure half the stuttering would be a saving grace. But have you used a midrange device is the question? You seem to be continuing to think that half a benchmark score will equal literally half the real world performance, and that the better chip will stutter less. That is simply not true, and I've already explained how important good software optimization is. For instance, I've used an HTC phone with a snapdragon 820 and a Nexus 5x with an old, crummy (on paper) 808. Guess which felt faster and better to use? Remarkably, the 808 based 5x. Why? Because the software was just that much better, it was less glitchy, and therefore, didn't stutter nearly as bad. It's hard to say if you're going to even pay attention to a word I have just said to you since it seems that when people talk to you, words go in one ear and out the other, but I hope this clears up any confusion you somehow still had.

TheWildShadow55, 30 Apr 2021Obviously it's going to be faster, but once again, a g... morePretty sure half the stuttering would be a saving grace.

Let's say a stu... moreObviously it's going to be faster, but once again, a good SoC is not going to be a saving grace for a phone, and also, a phone doesn't necessarily need a flagship SoC to be decent. I used to have this mindset until I used some midrangers that felt equally as fine to use

TheWildShadow55, 26 Apr 2021My point is that a good SoC won't be a saving grace fo... moreI'm gonna dumb this down for you. Let's say a stutter occurs over the duration the duration of 300 operations. If an SoC is capable of twice the TFLOPs. what do you think will be the result.

Also I'm not arguing with you so maybe let's stop with these false claims

The same is true for low benchmark scores too, like the Galaxy S5 doesn't get high scores at all yet somehow with custom ROMs, that phone can still fly.

TheWildShadow55, 15 Apr 2021While I do agree they should've used a better SoC, ben... moreDude you just explained why LG's phones are horrible while trying to prove they're not. You said it yourself,

"like in 2018 when the LG G6 wasn't that old the benchmarks weren't too bad, but was real life performance good? Not really"

You're attempting to make a point about real world performance being more important than benchmarks when you said yourself that LG can't even offer proper real world performance. This is why benchmarks matter. So proper hardware can carry horrible optimization such as LG's.

joe nodden, 14 Apr 2021Why the hell do you think I called it overpriced? Because t... moreWhile I do agree they should've used a better SoC, benchmarks really don't mean a whole lot anymore. "Oooh, this phone gets 10 more gigafarts than the other phone so it totally blows it out of the water, woww" No. Real world performance is what matters, like in 2018 when the LG G6 wasn't that old the benchmarks weren't too bad, but was real life performance good? Not really, I was fooled by the numbers of the benchmark. If that's all you're basing this phone off of, you need to reevaluate some thought processes. The phone costs money because of the mechanical mechanism, that takes engineering and costs money to make.

It is strange how so many people spat on Honor/Xiaomi with slider phone and other brands with pop-up camera, as if those phones were easy to break etc...
But when Wing is in question, it is praised all over the place.
Why? From mechanical point of view, Wing is much more likely to fail than phones I mentioned above.

Because the specs are NOT on par with other devices in this price range. And don't you dare bring up other overpriced trash while acting like that makes this a good deal. If I sell a pineapple for $1000 and someone starts selling another pineapple for $900, that doesn't make the $900 pineapple a good deal. $3 pineapples exist. The $234 Poco X3 Pro exists.

And we're not just talking equal performance for almost half the price, no no no we're talking over TWO HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND POINTS HIGHER IN ANTUTU! Do you understand that? A $234 phone has a Snapdragon 860 while this trash has a Snapdragon 765G!

And this may be obvious to you by now, but that gimmick of a second display does not make up for the godawful performance. It's laughable how awful the phone is. Stuff like this is why LG is dead.

Rudy, 13 Apr 2021I think it's a pretty good proposition. Except it's not.

This is cheap trash with a useless gimmick as its main selling point. Folding phones unfold to unveil a larger, more desirable display. This swivels to unveil a smaller, worse display.

By your logic, plastic is better than diamond because it's cheaper.
