AMD seems to be neglecting its APUs iGPU for some reason, they still stuck in Vega
But considering desktop version 11th gen i7, consume more power than 10th gen i9 and heats up more than the 10th gen i9 is a cause for concern.
Especially for a thin device like surface book.

It's really sad to see that the amd models are still being treated as a 2nd class citizen.
They are better in every single way, yet it's limited to 512GB and 16GB..

So WHY they are persisting in a 720p cam ?? Perhaps for Windows Hello and Infrared, 1080p would cost too much ? I'm not sure and don't really know but 720p when the screen are 4K everywhere it's crap, specially in 2021. Agreed with you.

DMX, 14 Apr 2021Without dedicated GPU it's not worth it!This is aiming to be thin, light & energy efficient hence having no Dedicated GPU since if it had it would require thicker chassis to accomodate better cooling copper/fans. Tough luck for intel as it is still using 14nm and throttles hard due to it heating up fast.

Glad to finally see AMD CPUs become mainstream in Surface products. Too bad it's previous gen Ryzen though. The 5000 series was a huge improvements, but I guess Microsoft takes a long time to release Surface products to market.

So intel worse 11th generation (who are made with older tech so they can pump out more units)
And older AMD 4000 chip instead the newer Ryzen 5000?
Not to mention, this is not about shortages. The current shortages caused spike in demand and scalper issue, both did not affect manufacturer quota from AMD.
So Microsoft had to intentionally preorder older Ryzen 4000 from AMD... why?

if it had Intel upcoming 12th gen I would be interested. And, amd's current procs have not had the hardware spectre fixes yet. (fact)
