From what I see I doubt sony used big sensors inside camera module. Shame really. They are holding back too much scared to canibalize their own camera sales, especially RX line.

The flagships will be interesting to watch. With the addition of the rumored periscope camera and other updates. But those are phones for a minority due to its high price. And with few sales. Their mid-rangers will still be miles behind competitors, like Xiaomi and Vivo, in specs/price and what you get for your money.

Ah, here comes every "tech expert" and Sony "tech enthusiasts", especially the most popular ones.
Battling about why sony phones are more superior than any phone ever, and should be bought by anyone, with these sony "tech experts" forcing them to buy their phones even though the majority of the people in this world doesn't have thousands of dollars to buy a flagship.
This comment section is gonna be very very fun, and full of sony fanboys and haters.

Sony already did that with the Cinema Pro and the Photo Pro app. Really, the stock Camera app feels just like using a Pixel or an iPhone. That said though, I do admit that Sony needs to make a better stock Camera software processing. Even a 2015 Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL can produce more detailed photo than the latest Xperia, which is a shame considering that the Xperia has much more modern hardware.

Really cannot wait for the 1 iii and the 10 iii. I've been eyeing the Xperia phones since last year. And with the dismissal of LG Mobile, I might be looking at it as the next probable replacement.

Sony cameras are good for professionals only. Not for average consumers. People often just want to point amd shoot. They want to capture the moment in 1 second, than share it instantly. Not like professionals who spend 30 seconds to dial setting, shoot, then spend 30 minutes to edit it. Hope Sony makes their camera app better to suit average consumers by improving their image and video software processing. Then make an separate app for professionals with all the tools for them to tweak. That will be great. Other aspects of the phone, including display, chipset, design, haptics, speakers, Flagship features, ip rating, microsd and headphone jack are all top notch. Except charging

Sony lacks behind in cameras for average consumers, they aren't as good as in point and shoot. Even some midrange take better shots than Flagship sony series. Sony is bad in video. Sony just needs to work on its camera app and improve their software processing to match other phones. They have the hardware to do so. Then make an entirely different app for professionals who want to tune their shots to perfection. No one wants to dial the settings for 5 seconds than tap the shutter, then spend 5 minutes or more to edit it. Average consumers just want 1 second to take a shot, then share it instantly.
