14 April 2021
It's a very complex phone on the inside.

So .. there seems to be some differences still

travstr, 15 Apr 2021I was thinking that but logically a manufacturer could use ... moreIf they did that one of 2 things would happen
    1. The phone has more structural integrity and is good
    2. The battery is really thin and the phone just blasts 💥 💣

Justboy, 15 Apr 2021I used to watch his videos and now i think they are waste o... moreEven Zack himself says that this is not what would happen always and putting a case would fix this a normal person won’t put brute force like he did
The lighter is for when your house burns down and you want to call 911 do you want your phone to go fully blank?
The bend test is for people who rage a lot (gamers)

Kal-el, 15 Apr 2021People shouldn't put their phone in their back pocket.... moreI like putting my phone in my back pocket because there’s no room in the front since my Johnson takes most of the space already

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2021it surely would have helped if the back panels were not sep... moreActually the panel is a single piece, it’s just how the antenna lines are positioned making the phone susceptible to bending. Some manufacturers will try to mitigate this by installing an internal board with high rigidity or simply strengtheninh the frame with another internal one for support, but the Legion phone has none.

Battery orientation probably won’t help much as smartphone batteries these days are thinner. Watch the Redmi K30/Poco X2 bend test in YT and the battery exploded when the phone was bent.

Man, these phones with AC plants, really a big investment, at this rate by 2030 phones will be cooling rooms

Crticizer, 15 Apr 2021Lenovo can't make any good phones. ShameYou realize that almost the exact same thing happened with ROG Phone 5, from Asus? and it has more to do with battery structure?

I actually think this phone could actually be the best gaming phone for 2021. I really think they have nailed it... Black shark 4 right up there... Red Magic too... Actually RoG under pressure this year.

And looking forward to the Redmi gaming phone. Which could actually be the best gaming phone all around due to specs vs price consideration...

Gaming phones are wildly popular these days. Especially towards the east... But I have noticed that in the west gaming phones seem to be flying off the shelves too... And that is not a bad thing.

Gaming phones are not only here to stay. But exploding in popularity. I really hope they don't get too popular. As I don't want everyone having a gaming phone like me.

A very pleased red magic owner. My daily driver. And a one hell of a gaming device...

it surely would have helped if the back panels were not separate pieces ? as in it would be better if the back panels were one piece, or at least fused together? there looks like nothing actually stopping them from flexing..
maybe just a reposition of the battery orientation ? or a small frame / support could be added that adds rigidity by spanning the length of the device.

but an armoured case for now would help I guess

Religious Playboy , 15 Apr 2021Just like the iPad pro.... The iPad Pro is a large tablet.

This is a phone. A phone is treated differently vs. the iPad. Besides the equivalent Huawei MediaPad 2018 also bent like the iPad, only the iPad was popular because JerryRig brought it up. Also never tested the Tab S7+, but a Korean video showed that the Tab display got detached despite not bending.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2021For your second question, you could ask competitive gamers ... morePeople shouldn't put their phone in their back pocket. It's really as simple as that. If they do they are just tempting fate for having it pickpocketed or sitting on it by accident. Just treat your phone like you actually care about it. Plus put a case on it.

travstr, 15 Apr 2021I was thinking that but logically a manufacturer could use ... moreThen they need to make the motherboard a long and narrow one... This is extremely difficult with the cameras, sensors, haptic feedback, etc.. But hey, the long and narrow battery is the solution..

The 2 part battery is proving to bad news, its about time manufacturers choose tall 2-part batteries... (they should be from top to bottom, so the phone gets some structural integrity)

Who is gonna bend the phone in real life ?

                                    Water tests are more useful

this only says that ASUS or Lenovo never have seen this channel.

I don't think the dual batteries itself is the issue, the battery is something that actually bend surprisingly easily, just trying to wear the glue under it make it bend quite well, so the battery is clearly not helping much as a structural element.
The issue might come from the structure/chassis itself and the way it is build around the two batteries, a different body design could probably fix the issue without other changes required.
