NotAnOpinion, 16 Apr 2021Wrong! What I said was, the SD 888 does not support 4K@120 ... moreThere's no support for 3K144hz only 2K support that.

It isn't about rendering you have a long road to get the idea

The Ultra is a monst, 16 Apr 2021The Ultra is a monster phone! I love that it is not too hea... moreIt is $720 bro! Not even a £1200 like Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung, Apple, and $1000 like Oneplus.
But i will still maybe get an Vivo X60 Pro Plus. It has the a slightly worse display (120hz vs 144hz and 8 bit vs 10 bit) , same curves, better packaging on box, better durability, it is smaller in size, slightly slower charging (55W vs 66W), significantly better cameras, and an different design. Only thing i am not sure if ZTE will be my choice is the software, i haven't got much information about it

[deleted post]The Ultra is a monster phone! I love that it is not too heavy, yet it has a serious camera system. Battery does not disappoint either, even if it is not among the biggest ones, 4600 is not that bad either.
I love that at this price range of 1000 Euros, you get a 5x periscope camera, you get plenty of storage too, and oh boy, you get 4K selfie camera! Well done ZTE on this!
I love that you also get some nice colors too, and it is little bit sad if there is no IP rating. The Ultra is a monster phone! SD 888 DO SUPPORT 4K@60 (old Xperia ll) and 3K@144, in-turn, if the Axon Ultra had an 3K display on it, the SD 888 would support it.

AnonD-937325, 15 Apr 2021So, this is the official camera specs of this phone(it'... moreYou know. In that test zoom shot published previously, I noticed the color changed twice, and with the pause, it wasn't the best. Both shouldn't happen. Mixing two different types of sensor technology like this, is not the best idea, but the pauses shouldn't exist and the processing should colour correct the different lenses together.

If they concentrated on the camera division, it would make for good cheap camera flagship phones. Which is what is needed now. Almost time to do a Kickstarter to buy a model to our specifications. The phones are appalling.

Ok. I've had a look. I was very hopeful about this phone. Fortunately, the well over $1000 price prediction was not true. But an extra $300 for the 1tb,.no thanks. $720 for 1tb would have been good.

A real issue is the imx686 looks backwards compared to the imx789, and we must be due for a imx8xx series.

                                      https://m.gsmarena.com/oneplus_9_pro-review-2241p5.php

But maybe the 789 is good enough. The Samsung was doing 15 stops and beautiful pictures. The 686 I found a little deficient in dynamic range. If the 789 is more, it hopefully pulls up aside Samsung. I like 64mp idea, but good dynamic range is part of a good picture. 686 should be relegated to cheap old phones.

The simultaneous multiple exposure HDR idea is not new it sounds like something I've been advocating for many years in pro video circles. One particular scheme I've advocated is trying to trick the sensor into switching between the dual gains. No camera developer took it up, but basically, that is a technique which could achieve this in hardware.

The only saving grace, is if the pro model, if it could be as good with 8k (does it have 8k?). But, the better all have microSD and USB 3.2 at least (dual USB would be better, to allow USB head phones and power, storage or sync at the same time.

I give them some credit for not going price bonkers, but if the top models were like the red magic 3 prices on the market, it would have been great.

We don't need highest speed. Time to dump the highest speed chips here into the ocean, get a cheaper manufacturer and stick a bigger video camera encoding system twice the data rate as here in. Three times would be better. I'm rather prepared to trick out something for filming where those datarates would make for nice images on an 120 inch projector. Texture, detail, just dissapears at low datarates. The new h266 codec is needed to get datarates down, but will be many times the size of a h264 encoder. But seriously, most people don't need the extra performance of the top chips, and others in Android,l phone chipsets, can't compete with 888, so stop chasing the dream, and put a pro quality video camera section in instead, with external recording via USB, if the user wants it.

I'm glad this has finally come out, because without the LG V70, we need to do cheap options (no thank you all the cheap competitors who went upmarket, and left very little 8k flag ship stuff phones $500).

Now. The Motorola Edge 2, is it going make a good stab at top rating at a cheap price? We'll see!
