The Ultra is a monster phone! I love that it is not too heavy, yet it has a serious camera system. Battery does not disappoint either, even if it is not among the biggest ones, 4600 is not that bad either.
I love that at this price range of 1000 Euros, you get a 5x periscope camera, you get plenty of storage too, and oh boy, you get 4K selfie camera! Well done ZTE on this!
I love that you also get some nice colors too, and it is little bit sad if there is no IP rating.

The lack of stereo speakers disturbs me...big time. Such a cheap component and they couldn't bother to continue offering that from the 20 series.

Observer, 15 Apr 2021"5MP macro and 2MP depth sensor". Anyone can stan... more1/1.76" is too big to use behind a 50/60/70/80mm lenses.
The module would end up even thicker than it is now.
This is why S20/21 uses 1/1.76" + 29mm, while S20 FE has 1/4.5" behind 76mm.

There's nothing "ultra" about this Galaxy's phone clone.
No 3K display, etc.
Well, at least ZTE didn't mimick Apple this time, though.

Days ago I saw post on weibo that says main camera is Omnivision 1/1.3".
While the other two are 1/1.76".

Bigmeme, 15 Apr 2021Vivo's UI sucksNot really. Sure, it has lots of bloatwares. But customization, looks, aesthetics, features are all top notch. I don't know about the software update situation.
My favourite software :
1. ColorOS (most packed features and customization)
2. OxygenOS (simple, feels like One Ui X Stock android, easy to use)
3. One UI (longest software support, easy to use one handed and has lots of features)
4. FuntouchOs (same reason as Coloros, but just a bit harder to use)
For Vivo's originOS, i haven't got a lot of information about it to make a conclusion.

One thing I like very much in the Axon 30 Ultra is that it has options to cap the refresh rate to 90 and 120 in the settings. I personally don't like 120Hz refresh as it kills the battery way too fast! But day by day the number of phones with 120Hz displays are increasing I would like to have the option to cap it to 90Hz.

I trust Vivo's software more, which is extremely close to coloros which itself is the best software in my opinion. X60 pro plus cameras slaughtered even S21 Ultra in almost all aspects except in zoom distance, Front facing photos and videos. The screen of 120hz fhd+ is excellent, sd 888 overheats sadly. Only downsides of X60 pro Plus is the absence of IPrating, wireless charging and stereo speakers in my opinion. But they are all paid back by the medihm sized phone, which doesn't feel Ultra huge

Wait... So the only model with a second gen under display camera is going to be the vanilla Axon 30? This makes it sound like the tech isn't really there yet, even for a second gen. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the results though, hopefully it will get better with time.

Aierlan, 15 Apr 2021Very competitive pricing for both models. It has nothing special other than 64 MP triple cameras, which, on paper, seem fantastic but probably do nothing spectacular in reality. (Because ZTE's camera software is not very good) So, the price has to be competitive for sure. Also, they didn't mention whether it had stereo speakers or not, which is a shame for them.

Very impressive. Zte axon 30 ultra can kill the Mi 11 from some areas. It has better battery (lower res screen), significantly better camera hardware, same design, same fast charging (no wireless though), screen is almost same, build and material is identical. The only real differentiator is software. I don't know how good is ZTE software and how long they will support it.
Zte axon 30 pro is also competitive with Redmi K40 Pro Plus, which has an worse camera. So it will be competitive. Hope Zte can be as good as Oneplus or Xiaomi in Flagship killers. Hope they didn't die temporarily/permanently like LG did.
But i will still get Vivo X60 Pro Plus over this. It has better software (maybe), smaller size, better design, significantly better cameras, same screen, same fast charging
