Why no AOD? Why? Come on One Plus, what's going on with you?

No, this update fixes nothing. It's the same stuttering, buggy rubbish it was before. Not to be considered as stable version in any case, maybe some late beta. Actually one of betas was even better, but that was "fixed" soon after :D
I've been using oneplus phones since the original One, but no more. Flagship killer company has evolved into another sluggish Chinese phone manufacturer. I guess that's the full circle of life. Next step will be full merge with Oppo and game over.

Kangal, 19 Apr 2021I'm kind of disappointed with the support for the 7-se... moreAgreed, it's since the 6th series that after grandiose statements about android support (2 years of android OD updates and 3 years of security updates ) and the update to android 9 in record time (just after 1 month after the official release on Pixel) things crashed to an utter garbage. Now updates are decent only during the first 12 months of the release of the device, after that you are left to you own with bugged releases and slow and sporadic security patches. I had a bug on my Oneplus since android 9 and let not start talking about the problems of OP 5 and 5T owners that simply got fobbed.

Even after update, wireless android auto doesn't work.

I'm kind of disappointed with the support for the 7-series. It's notably gone downhill to what we've seen before. The standout support was for the 3-series and One-series fyi.

I knew this was going to happen, so I purposely held back the update. I was satisfied with the Stock Rom (+ root) but now I think I'm going to start shifting to Custom Roms instead. That is unless I upgrade to another device, like a Sony, and rely on their Stock Firmware (w/ root).

How hard could it be.. Working on this update for these devices since more than 8 months.. Yet so buggy and no AOD

ashwinderickash, 19 Apr 2021When can the update be expected for the OnePlus 6 and 6T?At this rate, I would not count on an update for older models ...
OnePlus made it clear that they did not care about the user, they raised the prices and released several models instead of the "normal version" and the T version and therefore cannot maintain the update schedule.
People on the official OnePlus forum keep writing about bugs with this hot fix

When can the update be expected for the OnePlus 6 and 6T?

OxygenOS has gone from the best android software skin to the average one. Oneplus is lacking software support. How can a $1000 phone like Oneplus 9 Pro get only 2 years of android updates and 3 years of security updates? How can their $299 Oneplus Nord N10 get only 1 year of updates? Samsung and Google offers 3 years of updates for any of their device higher than $300 which is sick for Oneplus. Even Xiaomi offers 4 generations of MIUI updates for its Flagship killer, and 3 generations for its midrange and entry level. OxygenOs is now beaten by ColorOs in terms of look, stock feel, and customization. Meanwhile, it is bested by most android skins in terms of software support. Things aren't lookung great for Oneplus. The moment Oneplus started to make an Flagship and abandon their long self, as well as making overpriced phone with no innovations and is inferior in some ways to other phones, that's when they started to die. Oneplus 8 and Oneplus Nord N10 marks the death of Oneplus.
