windows 8 and lumia 920 is the future. as an iphone user i am ready to move in november to windoes 8 for good, if windows devices will have direct mass storage and file manager like android or symbian. i am so tired of stupid itunes and their h264 video format. it takes a day to convert a full hd movie for stupid h264, i am so tired of this annoying procedure

AnonD-4345, 28 Sep 2012My respect for Apple Doubles now, its such a professional c... moreSpoken like the many loyal fan without the thought that they just got ripped off by the hype that the iOS maps would have worked out of the box. Wake up! Apple knew their maps wouldn't work when they launched the iOS6. Cook should fire himself as CEO.

Rex, 28 Sep 2012Admitting after selling 5million.. as if they didnt know :|... moreYes I think Apple knew and they deliberately agreed that Foxconn should go ahead with the selling of the phones regardless of the defects. So which means Apple couldn't care even if you had received a defective phone. Refunding of money or a new phone I don't think Tim is going to do that. Loads of apologies is what is going to be offered.

no doubt that android and google maps started off as very basic stuff, but unlike apple, they knew their position and did not going around claiming that they were 'the best' at the time. That's why apple is receiving so much flak right now.

My respect for Apple Doubles now, its such a professional company that In-spite of being the Most Respected and on Top of the World in Technology they still accept their flaws and mistakes...Apple will remains as one of the be the best Organizations in the world for a very long long time ...Kudos to TIM and Thanks to Apple to responding quickly before people out there make fuss of it which is not needed.

I'll tell you what should be done. Nokia and apple shouldn't make any map for IOS. Then and only then People will be quitting apple devices.

Denzo, 28 Sep 2012Im in Australia, Sydney. It works great around the Univers... moreAround universitys in Sydney... Man how dope can one get? Not that i am against education but if you are judging a phone by its ability to navigate there, where u obviously spend most of your time, then something is wrong somewhere.
Its too obvious you only used the apple maps to play around in your local area, and u r saying it work well as a toy.

"iOS users have the official permission of Tim Cook go elsewhere if they feel unsatisfied with what Apple has done with Maps"
Very nice statement!

I'm not an Apple fan(nor will I ever be), a hater in fact. But for the first time ever they've earned my respect for being man enough to admit their mistakes. Good job Apple! That's how its suppose to be! :)

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2012np ellop is packing up in his office cs they will sack him ... moreElop is microsofts man, without him the payments from MS to nokia is in jeopardy. He is the safest man on this planet. The company he runs is however not so safe.
About Nokia maps, there are some nice improvements the last few years, many areas of Metro Manila used to be only main roads but had OK satelite images. Better now but the detail in Google maps for the same areas is many levels above Nokia Maps. Its in places like this you see the difference, ofcors Nokia has great maps for big cities in europe and whatever, its a very different story in Asia, South Americas and Africa, Nokia is too small to ever catch up with Google Maps, the difference is rather getting bigger and bigger.
Apple still working with the map basics, Nokia working to catch up with the essentials, and Google is already at the point where they started to work on perfection.
