This is obviously designed to be a throwback to the iMac G3. The colors, the white bezel, the colored bottom housing the speakers etc. if it wasn‘t that, they would have never gone with a white bezel, even the iPhone SE 2020 changed the white one for a black on the silver model. Maybe they could have released a space grey model with a black bezel, or they will reserve that for an iMac Pro with something like a M1X

We noticed it when users having illustrator doing some heavy work, but safari had the focus. Illustrator took 20 minutes to complete, compared to 1-2 minutes if focused.
Suspect this is apple moving to a "mobile" os to save battery and also make the hardware look super fast for the app with focus.
M1 is a good chip overall though.

Well this is a bit of problem for enterprise customers. We used to buy imac pros with max ram and drives etc.
16gb ram won't really cut it for our business uses. :(
Also app nap and os backwards compatibility been an after thought - writing is on wall for enterprises wanting to use macs. Never mind the cost. $200 for another 8gb of ram?!?
The devices are decent for average consumer, if you want to pay the high prices.🤷♂️

When you wait for 10 years for a redesign and ultimately get this! Like really? That ugly bottom bezel and that too white on all the models, why the hell they went with this colorful thing, looks really unprofessional. I just wanted a plain space gray model with black front. This is what a real disappointment looks like!

It's a mix of using recycled previous Macbooks, plus upgraded chip...and all that you get a good deal of $1,499 for 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage

let me guess, upgrading from 8 to 16 gigs of ram and from 256 to 512 ssd is going to cost almost the price of the machine.
