Microsoft fail with marketing strategy.... overprice it product with something that customer can get better product...c'mon,having a small market share in mobile segment is not same with your software/computer segment where you dominated and can be a price maker...

damn this prices aren't for real right? coz im ready to give up my 4s to this. and this is the price they are selling? i think im gonna have to wait for i phone 5s or 6.

Most people here won't want to hear this, but at the moment, android is superior to WP in terms of features and apps. WP however has great potential and I'd really like to see it grow. But I just don't see that happening with prices staying what they are because paying more for a phone that can do less is simply outrageous. Sure, the lumia 920 has some revolutionary features, but such a big phone with no sd card might not be everyone's cup of tea. And you're left with some quite good looking, but featurewise quite ordinary phones that cost a lot of money. It worked for Apple, not sure it can happen again here.
This first batch should have been cheaper to attract customers an enable WP to grow. It might not be so profitable in the short term but in the long run, I'm more than sure it would pay off.
Also my ideal phone would be Lumia 800 with dual core, sd card and WP8. I know they had to change something, but the 820 just isn't as pretty :(

I'd buy this one for the larger screen and battery. But most importantly, it's made out of aluminum. The HTC and Nokia phones are made out of polycarbonate. At first thought that might sound like a good idea but polycarbonate contains the hormone influencing compound bisphenol A. Studies have shown that this compound easily leaks from different kinds of products and affects us more than we first thought possible. It is suspected to be a carcinogen. I'd recommend avoiding all products containing this compound.

wow, i think they're looking to be the most expensive smartphones availble for xmas. may be all the marketing they've been doing will same them; the price definitely doesnt make them the first choice.

With WP pricing...the phones R nearly out of my budget...im a proud owner of HTC radar...was looking for a decent WP budget phone from nokia/sammo/htc...1 GHz dual core krait,512mb ram, front facing cam, SD card option for 250 to 300 EUR...but be im seriously giving a thought abt google nexus...though old but he is get...and im reluctantly thinking of jumping android bandwagon...as the phone costs only 319 euros now. Very sad that I had been vociferously on side with MS and Nokia even though I bought HTC radar for a budget phone with frnt facing cam...im fully satisfied with Wp7.5... But now I have a feeling that they sense opportunities to compete with apple...and they dont think any budget users. I used to hate android. But now I feel it is only my own ego which held me with WP...sigh...my own confessions.

According to GSMArena's great job with it's battery lab tests, i can say that windows phone 7 devices are not battery efficient! and regarding to same kernel in windows 8 & windows phone 8 it's normal to think that windows phone 8 devices will do the same. beside that they're overpriced. i like microsoft but only i can wish success for them. jast i can say: "sorry, with this prices and competitors why i should buy a WinPhone devices".

Seriously??!!! Whom r U(Samsung and Microsoft)competing with?? Apple?? I am WP7 user (Samsung Focus) and $710 is too expensive for this phone!!! I mean come on... Only 3-4 % market share is what Microsoft has in smartphone warfare and in that I am sure 40-50% out of that 4 % already dropped the idea of buying these phones!! Think broader Microsoft, you have to give it for cheaper price(At least $500). That price would attract some users to at least give a try... Its a great platform no doubt!! I have been using it from past one year( i dont use many apps , so u r saved there:P)
I am a Microsoft fan and I am feeling embarrassed to share the below info. The following are the major or most popularly used features are missing in current WP phones!!
*NO Music equalizer!!(WTF?? I mean WTF??) So i am back to my mp3 player!!
*Bluetooth transfer. ( I dont need it though)
*No tethering support
*WiFi turns off when the screen is locked
Have u fixed all the above issues on your new platform!!??? If not, Samsung Focus will be last Windows Phone and will never ever think of buying a Windows phone!!
