tablet for $1100 or more for me? NO. if i have that money i will buy $500 PC or $700 used gaming laptops and the rest i will buy Mi Pad 5.

Tech reviewers have it wrong with the new iPad Pro. They all seem to think that the 2018 iPad Pro is still good enough and that there is no real reason to upgrade. What they don't get is that not all pro users will get an iPad Pro for video production like them. Many of us are drawers in painters and the new 12.9 inch is perfect for what we do. The M1 chip will let us make a massive brushes with no lag. The 16 gigs of RAM will let us have unlimited layers in procreate. The thunderbolt port will let us hook up super fast storage to transfer the big files that we are painting. What they don't get is that the four gigs of RAM in the 2018 iPad Pro that they all seem to love is not enough for what we do. And we also are not waiting on pro video editing software to be brought to iPadOS like they are. This 12.9 is a cheaper version of a Cintiq and it is better than a Wacom in every way.

I still don't consider iPad Pros a computer even though it's what apple's want. I just consider it a very high end tablet.

They need to do a lot more with ipados to take advantage of those specs. I'd still get the mac. Hopefully 15.0 will bring some serious changes.

As of now, it has limited niche audience.

What the point of "computer-grade performance" if you don't get the "actual" computer capable app? Only if when that happens, it would be more appealing and Apple can finally achieve what they always wanted initially with iPad.

I'm anti Apple but M1 is king and I hate that it took so long for traditional OEMs to understand the power or ARM, Apple is the most conservative company in the universe and even her beat them. That's how slow minded are they.
Qualcomm is pretty much dead for years. Monopolizing android and keeping it back , I miss the time when we had Texas Instruments, Samsung, Nvidia and many others competing in the arm space. Ever since Qualcomm lost its completion became the new Intel, incremental upgrades... Bleh

Too expensive and too nothing.
In my country is for sale Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H probably the best notebook of 201 year for price of 1500-1800 bucks depends on vendor.
So litterary same price but gazzilions time better than this laughable tablet.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, 16" IPS antireflex screen 2560 × 1600 165Hz, RAM 32GB DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB 140 W, SSD 1000GB, numerical keyboard, underlight RGB keyboard, webcamera, USB-C, WiFi 6, 80 Wh battery, weight 2.45kg, Windows 10 Home.
Never seen anything better for gaming with price of around 1500 to 1800 bucks. True beast compared to that laughlable tablet by so called most rich company in the world.

The cheapest budget iPad is already good. Spend that money on a great windows laptop or on a high end android phone.

The real question is if they port their Mac derived pro environment to ipads. If not they are caged monsters.
Price wise they are extremely cheap. i9 grade performance starting @ $800 or so.
Software wise, it's up to Apple really.

I see most people here only seeing tablet as a multimedia device are ignoring some creatives actually uses this device. It's not only about Photoshop that you guys always echoed about, there are other powerful apps that both OS don't have, e.g. Procreate, Affinity Apps, Astropad, Lumafusion, just to name a few. It's well OK then if you could do that on your notebook or PC, but some people wanted to have that in a way more portable form factor and a stylus pen too (not to mention AES and N-trig pens on convertible Windows devices are way terrible either).
