It's not a big deal to add those features. You can go smaller and add all those features, but it'd be a cramped phone. I don't know how many people would like such a phone tbh. There might be many, but not enough people for a company to continue making such phones.
The original Zenfone 6 was a really well balanced phone. It offered everything a user wants in a upper midrange / flagship. Hoping Zenfone 8 will bring everything it had, plus some more practical features.

Again, it had:
- Top CPU at the time
- DEX
- enough RAM
- SD slot
- 32-bit/384kHz audio
- 3,5 jack + decent stereo speakers
- Qi charging
- at least average battery
- great S.AMOLED with HDR10+ and ~438 ppi density and AOD
- IP68
- great support and update
- 4K/60fps, Auto-HDR selfie cam
- great main camera with HDR10 and EIS-OIS
- Wifi 6
- ANT+ certification
- Flawless wired and wireless compatibility with every device I've ever tried.
- USB Type-C 3.1
- Side mounted, very stable finger print sensor (might be a disadvantage for some)
- Dual SIM (dual standby)
- Great GPS (GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo)
- Widevine L1
- BT5.0 with aptx, aptx LE and even LDAC
- GG5 front and back
And all of this in a 142.2 x 69.9 x 7.9 mm housing.

The phone might feature a punchhole display. Though a phone with flipcam will come for sure, but it might be limited in availability.

Tigolebitties, 24 Apr 2021AMOLED has deeper black which produces better contrast, use... moreYeah, but it consumes more energy with white backgrounds, and usually it has PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), which can cause some problems for sensitive people. And now some LCD's have some very good contrast with high brightness, it's not so a big difference how it was a few years ago. I don't say Amoled is bad, it just has it's pluses and minuses, like the LCD. An LCD doesn't make a phone bad, or worse than an Amoled, I think it all depends on your needs, IMHO.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2021Some people have unrealistic expectations. They want a phon... moreYou are not talking about a 2 inch phone here. But seriously. Look at the Sharp R2 compact. At the moment anything equivalent to a 855 and above, but in a latest lower energy process, would be a win. I don't say equivalent to a 845, because they had a lot of energy consumption issues recording video. The top of the 7xx series is now in that range. But, realistically, all we need is the bottom of the 7 down to the 4 series with as good video function as the 888 (or better. It's too low to do 8k sufficiently). If somebody wants to play the latest Quake or whatever at the moment In a 4 inch phone, why? But, the above processors are sufficient to do many things except the leading games that you want on a 6 inch+ phone. 5.5 inch is plenty.
4.7inch and below, there should be options for. I have a under 4 inch Chinese phone which looks like an moto Edge, and I think it might have come out before the edge. I had a play with the camera, and it looks rather ok, even if it's below 4k, but that's ok for some people. I was waiting for a 4k mini phone around this size, but gave up. About the smallest mini phone you want is nearly as long as a original iPhone but narrower in 16:9 to 21:9, with full face screen and virtually no notches, single sensor. Realistically, you could put something equivalent to a low end chipset in it with a high end video encoding unit. That would be a great second or first phone.
The newer battery technology is part how you get that size battery into 5.5 inch and smaller phone.
But, I'm really wanting a fold phone that folds up that size and unfolds to 6 inch plus.

Exactly what I was alluding to in my prv comment.
Sure S10e was a killer compact, but even the Pixel 5/S21/P40-ish size aren't huge by any means. You can go smaller like the 4a or those older entry-level Samsungs, but then u start to compromise quite a bit on one or more of the significant components.
