Last gen had impressive battery performance, it's price/performance ratio was insane among FHD tablets.
Wish they had QHD option.

Not sure if the average user is around 70 and uses it for an hour once a week, but I've found the whole fire range an embarrassment - Really shoddy quality control (dead screen out of the box, flickering screen out of the box, broken memory card slot out of the box, etc etc and etc), followed by hideous slow down/freezing max three months later. I've had multi-generations of the 7, 8, and 10.1 inch (because I'm always seduced by the price during special offers, the amazon brand, and live in perpetual hope) and have returned or scrapped each one. It's a terrible, terrible waste of resources - They all seem to have been built on the floor of an outbuilding, by crying children. In contrast, the Kindles are built to last, and the cost reflects that.

I bet getting a refurbished tab s4 or s5e and finding a keyboard case yourself would be a better value-per-spec deal and much more premium experience. You also get Dex which is worlds better for productivity.

I still have my 5th and 7th generations. I wish that the smart people at Amazon in 2017 would have realized that 1gb ram and 2 GB useable space out of 8 for android 5 isn't the best, that I could have grabbed a phone with a 720p screen and better specs. But they have gone the mile
