8 core arm8 with mmu+. Bought 1 for the CPU. Tested. Bought 2 more. Intel can not do dynamic relocation. It has no PC relative branching. The instruction set on this coupled with it's implementation s awesome. Unfortunately...it's strapped to win-blows. eUFS is fairly slow and wears out. I added a 2tb sata...wow! NEEDS Linux. Change all I/O to hard drive especially temp. With reentrant code, you don't need as much ram... You don't have to piggyback all the dependencies to the app. Have had a nightmare with WSL(2 or 1). Had it working with term but no gfx till crash. Now no wsl at all. Won't even virtual box. Still Sharp dev is fast for x86 dev and gfx ui. Visual studio code does great native apps but no forms gen. Coupled they should be a dream. Later.
Without a doubt (in my fragile mind) arm is the future. This is a great unit especially for the $300 cdn I paid. It's like 2 raspberry pi 4b's in one core. Still needs a lot of support and don't count on Samsung or Ms for it. Benchmarks beat my quad 3.4 amd with ,8 g ram. I get 150m+ on I/O and 50m+ to ufs. 20gfps potential with great cache and dynamic mmu.
Display is best ported out but good when no angle. Enjoy.
Ps, all my x86 -32b work but no drivers.

However, a Windows (ARM version) laptop using a Snapdragon processor is a fairly new animal. We need to see how these machines run "in the wild" - in corporate/business & personal user situations. I don't necesssarily know what to really expect. This initial version at $350US is good price.

I need to see how this laptop behaves while running MS Office, Google Suite Apps, Acrobat, AutoCAD, a Citrix workspace (emulation)....while conducting a meeting via MS Teams, Google Meet, or on Adobe Meeting Space. And then can I use my Amazon app to check on shipping dates & access my banking app to confirm financials.

Replace Windows with a Linux based system. Chrome OS, Android, or Pop OS? Applications are much more available.

W10 ARM + 4GB RAM + 128GB SSD = bad joke. No seriously for that money, get some proper mint condition used Thinkpads w/ 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD instead. Plus if Win 10 on those are still meh for ya, any Linux distro under the sun are ready should you want to nuke and pave over the OS.

"Affordable Laptop". Something that's going to get outperformed by a mobile Celeron.

I'd get this for 299 euros.

i dont think lot of people gonna buy it , i mean whats the point of this WOA without touch screen and no 4g .
considering the performance and compatibility issues the platform brings in this price its a big No No .

It may well be that Microsoft have taken onboard the engineers that previously worked on Samsung's Mongoose cores.

Microsoft certainly never previously had ARM engineers, so my suggestion posed above is a possibility.

                          overprice by $100 .

Samsung should develop an ARM processor for Windows based on their Mongoose cores. The per core performance is better than anything Qualcomm can come up with and they wouldn't have to care about the excess heat and battery consumption. I don't know why they're not doing this.

4Go of ram!!?? What is this 2012???

This is shame. They could have put Chrome OS and increased RAM to 6GB, could have caught some eyes.

Samsung is very funny 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM for 449 pounds. This laptop should be priced at around 200 pounds. There are a lot of better deals out there for that price.

Useless buying ARM based Windows Laptop.
Better spend a a little more and get a proper Windows 10 laptop based on Intel or Ryzen

                                        Epic fail.
                                        Only 4gb Ram.
                                        Belongs in the Dstbin.
Needs 8 or 12 gb Ram.
