Motorola One Hyper gets Android 11 in the US

I got the android 11 update and restarted my phone. I began to watch a show and paused it. When I returned to my phone a few minutes later, the screen wouldn't light up or respond. The side buttons still work, and I can fill the finger print scanner work, but the screen is black and I can't get it to come on.

I got offered the Android 11 update on my One Hyper the other week (in UK). While it seemed to install fine and everything seems to be working, I immediately noticed a change in wallpapers. What it looks like:

Basically whatever app you use to apply a wallpaper, the system takes over and crops the image. When you pull down the notification bar (or pull up app drawer in default launcher), it zooms back out to the original 1:1 image.
From my searching online it seems to be a new 'feature'/bug with Android 11 devices in general. There is a work around, it doesn't seem to affect live wallpapers, so with an app like KLWP you can create your own. The app's UI isn't what I'd describe as particularly user friendly, but it works. Just a shame extra hoops like this are required for such a simple thing.
The process of applying a wallpaper with KLWP:
Create > Background > Type: Image > Bitmap Pick image > select your pic > then press Save icon top right > Set as Wallpaper: Fix > Set Wallpaper button (might disappear, tap just above your Home button) > then close app, wallpaper should be applied

I'm on Tmo, my One Hyper got the upgrade on this past Thursday. No issues, works just fine. However, my new Samsung A52 5G arrived on Saturday. Part of the reason I went with Samsung was because Moto is so slow to offer Android updates. This phone should have gotten 11 almost a year ago. Anyone want to buy a used One Hyper?

That's good news from Motorola phone company, I like Motorola phone, firstly but not the least, I was using a 3G and phone was so powerful, items of camera, speaker, screen, and sound quality and now, if Motorola company upgrade to this level and I recommended to anybody, if you need android phone to use buy any Motorola phone on your money and it's affordable prices and availability in all phone shops and it is very quality and it's not easy to damage the screen, thanks.

That's why you should wait for reviews before updating, updates can destroy a phone and not improve fella,if not broken then don't fix it as the saying goes,hope you get sorted 👍

Yeah just don't expect your Hulu, Disney Plus, Netflix, or HBO Max to work afterward....cause mine certainly don't after updating.

Stay away from the Hyper One it's a piece of crap and even worse with the latest update
