Seems Harmony OS might be like Xiaomi, can see some apps open with ads running before going in.
To some, it might be distasteful or even unwanted.
No one wanna sees ads on their phones especially when time is critical.
So i'd say this might have a double edge blow back if its real.
Otherwise EMUI 11 looks cooler.....and hopefully a EMUI12.

I find it amazing that Huawei still sells their new devices in carrier's store in western markets despite not having access to Android Apps. They are really trying and there are many people buying unaware of the issues until they fire it up and want to setup instagram, messenger, whatsapp .

Having the GSM back to new Huawei phones is still the best thing to have. I'm still holding on with my Mate 20 after trying Sony, Samsung and Xiaomi for possible replacement.
If Huawei can lure back Google, for sure it'll be funtime for satisfied users like me.

nonsense. there is no survival chance without app support. that will be a problem for at least 3 years from now. they will keep selling in China, that's all.

Some of Huawei users which their mobile can be swithed to Harmony will try to install and use. Yes some of them will stay if the OS can satisfying them especially not Google users and some will switch back to Android.

When microsoft introduce the new Windows phone (the tiles)
it have new programming language (compared to previous windows)
and different programming language (compared to android/apple)
so the learning curves for developer is higher for small market share.
Huawei Harmoni OS will be the dominant factor in China because USA pose a threat to China stability. USA can anytime say they forbid Microsoft OS or Apple OS to run on any Chinese device. Thus, with a support of 1.4 billion Chinese, Harmoni OS will survive.
Xiaomi, Oppo & Vivo will eventually drop Android for China, and goes for Harmony.
