I mean while this does seem fine from national perspective, from an individual perspective, it doesn't seem to change much other than the fact that we probably won't be able to connect with players from other countries. Both China and India have lame rules for privacy and personal.

PUBG was banned because it was a Chinese product and now same company from same country is releasing some game here in India. This govt. is fooling Indians and wants to continue business with China. I don't find it wrong but tell me who started this first. 70 percent of Indian are non or very low educated.

It's not like the govt bears any expenses for maintaining the games' servers (afaik).
It actually makes a lot of sense to release this game in the current situation. People can stay at home OR at quarantine centers and play without any worries of contracting covid 19.
Other means of entertainment such as tv and movie industry are facing several restrictions, and are even said to likely shut down filming soon. IPL has been discontinued indefinitely too.
Mobile data is very cheap, and the game consumes lesser data than pc/console games , so there are no worries about data inadequacy. Most people can play it since the minimum requirements aren't high.
YTers will also get a lot of content to make from their own homes.
It's certainly better than watching news all day and worrying all the time.
