Just purchased find x2pro last month , if it's only gonna supply users with 2 years of updates and support then after I've got my use out of it I won't be purchasing another oppo handset . At least apples loyalty to its customers shows in continued handset update no matter the age of phones .

if you go to amazon now refurbished iphone 8 is just $149, and new s9 is over $400, so refurbished tend to be cheaper with lot of issues.

Eury, 09 May 2021Android needs to do better. My mom's iPhone 5 still ru... moreAnd my mom's budget Android from 2015 still working great.

Some silly ass comments here. Why would you be loyal to a mobile phone manufacturer? It's not a football team lol. It's a phone. I'm loyal to my pocket so I buy what I see as the best value. I don't care about the brand. I bought a Poco F3 for 292 euros. An iPhone 12 is over 700 but an iPhone 12 is not twice as good. I personally am not sure it's better at all. I bought the Poco F1 because it represented value for money and I didn't buy the Poco F2 pro because it was five hundred euros and I don't feel that was great value for money so I got the Vivo iqoo z1 for 280 last year. That's a phone that hit 550,000 on antutu. And then I got the Poco F3 now. If an iPhone 12 was maybe 450 I might consider it. That's how most logical beings behave when it comes to buying a phone. They want value for money. Some people don't care as they're loaded and just buy what they like and some have some misguided sense of loyalty to a brand that doesn't really care about them on an individual level. Some people know nothing about the phones and just buy a phone because it is from a big name company.

Android needs to do better. My mom's iPhone 5 still running flawlessly on latest iOS for it.

The real tragedy is that it's closest competitor (S21 Ultra) is selling for 50% more all the while sporting a thermal-throttling happy Exynos.

Terranova, 07 May 2021You seem to have no loyalty to a particular manufacturer, a... moreI am not married to a particular brand. My loyalty is towards the best overall product on the market. I am not using subpar hardware and software of a particular phone just because it is expensive or comes from a reputed brand.

I was looking forward to S20 ultra. But after the Exynos disaster, I was in no mood to pay Rs.97k for S20 ultra. Then waited for the Find X2 pro which never released in my country. So opted for the OnePlus 8 pro which is basically the same phone minus periscope lens & 30W charging instead of 65W. Paid 60k for that.
Would have hapily paid 100k and above for that. Some People would think it's not fair to spend 100k on OnePlus, because it's Chinese brand. I have no such misconceptions and I don't buy based on brand Name but the quality of the product itself.

Blackkk Mamba , 08 May 2021And they say iPhone gives better resale value... Well for s... moreIphones do get better resale value, but only if you keep them for 3+ years. I mean, after 3-4 years an iPhone will keep its value better than almost any Android phone.
For example, even now an iPhone 8 (which is a 3.5 years old device) sells with 250EUR in second hand market in my country. That means roughly 35% from its initial price. A Samsung S8 sells now with 150EUR in second hand market. That means 20% of its initial price. Also is discontinued by Samsung, so it will not receive any updates of any kind in the future.
Of course, if somebody is planning or knows that he/she will change their phones once per year, iPhones are definitely not an option. Unless, you absolutely prefer IOS and you don't care about the money lost.

Anonymous, 08 May 2021Isn't the MI 11 Ultra already launched there in India?? It still says coming soon on Amazon page despite being unveiled on April 23rd.
MI 11x and MI 11x Pro are available though.

In the end, you must have realized that owning an Android flagship for a year will always cost you less than an iPhone.

Also the data plans for 4g being less in India compared to most countries out there.. The amount one spends monthly for phone and cellular connection is far less than what you would pay in the US while being locked to a contract.

Decided to buy IPhone 11 pro max after listening to glowing reviews.
                              Cost me around Rs.117k .
Kept the Galaxy Note 9 around as a spare phone.

Soon got tired of the hardware and software shortcomings on iOS.
Kept missing Android and going back to my Galaxy Note for certain things.
Upgraded myself to the OnePlus 8 pro.
Cost me around Rs.60k (half the value of the iPhone).
I didn't even have to pay that.
Sold my iPhone 11 pro Max at Rs. 55k (resale value for iPhone being good in my country) and added another 5k to buy 12gb/256gb model of OP8 pro.

[Effective cost of using the IPhone 11 pro max for around 9 months = Rs.62k]

Later Sold my Galaxy Note 9 for around Rs.30k.

[Effective cost of using the Galaxy Note 9 for around 21 months = Rs.38k]

Now waiting for the MI 11 Ultra to launch. The OnePlus 8 pro should sell for around Rs.35k considering it is still priced Rs.60k for 12gb/256gb variant.

[Effective cost of using OnePlus 8 pro for around a year = Rs.25k]

Well there are features that I absolutely need like split screen multitasking and features that I could care less about like Always on display.
But I am usually hard on manufacturers who launch flagships with missing flagship features.
