I considered the ROG series but I dislike the humongous size, so instead I opted to get an Xperia 5 II which has a 4000 mAh battery. Don't know what you are talking about but this size and battery are perfectly fine for gaming... So the Zenfone 8 will be very capable of doing so for the vast majority of people.

Well, €700 is around Rp.12.5Mio and exactly similar with Compact Ivones. Then, I concur this Will not be a hype product in my country.
To all of you worldwide who can afford for this affordable price,😘 Di Enjoy your party. If it retailed more than €500, I don't want to spend that much unless Asus is a hype brand like bitten Apple😔.
So long Asus, hope your mobile division won't be like Sony, LG, Sharp, Panasonic, Lenovo etc in my country.

Every manufacturer is trying to sell their overpriced phones for far more than they should, the market is just too saturated. Flagship used to be a reasonable amount with plenty below EUR 400, now every company wants to sell at least EUR 500. Mid-range is the sweet spot.

An audio centric phone is top priority for me. A good quality Hi-Fi DAC can be a deal breaker because in India, there are not a lots of phone (Non-Chinese) which have a good DAC. I have LG G7+ Thinq for almost 3 years now and after this mobile LG stopped launching flagships like G8 V50,60 etc. So am looking for upgrade but like I said, audio is top priority. If Asus confirms that I will go for ZenFone 8 Pro otherwise ROG 5 is still an option. Thanks for your views.

The video is even worse on the Galaxy S21 Ultra at night(Snapdragon and Exynos) compared to OnePlus 9 without OIS.

ledosan, 09 May 2021My older zenfone was trash for his cameraMy Zenfone 7 Pro takes incredible pictures. You can also use GCam with it. It's a beast. Seriously, can't say anything bad about it other than the weight. But meh, a Galaxy M series weighs the same. Big battery? Big weight.

The Asus line of phones have traditionally had great features along with large batteries and long battery life and reliability at the fraction of the cost of other phones offering the same features (if you can get them, which in most instances you can't).

Not gonna sell much, snapdragon 888 is already there in rog 5 so why they put the same costly chip in there. They could have gone for 700 series which could decrease the cost drastically for the end user too. People are not buying this for gaming that's for sure. With 4000 mah battery and 120hz, will not be able to do much gaming. This will be pricey compact phone.
