Will be interesting to compare with S21, about same size. Anyway i am happy with my S21, and this one seems to have nothing more to offer.

hmm, 09 May 2021How will 21:9 be a compact phone ? Xperia 5 III is 6.1 inc... moreWhy are you talking about how tall the phones are, people are holding their phones in portrait most of the time, not landscape.
Galaxy A41 is wider at 69.8 mm vs 68 mm for the Sony.

galaxyS15, 08 May 2021Amazing. That was the only thing missing in this phone even... moreI noticed OIS is not really important for taking pictures if the sensor size is big enough and the pixel size too, but for video stabilization it's very important.

Why do you think pc monitors are still mainly 16:9 /16:10 - it's a good middle ground. Yes there are wide monitors, but how many people need them? They're like 21' crt monitors in the 90s - very few are able use them for what they were made.

Great perfect phone for me except for the lack of OIS. Would be nice if it turns to be false and the actual phone has it

              hmm, 09 May 2021Thats not a small phone. 5,9 inch screen but 148mm tall is ... more+1
I miss the days when phones were made for humans and not aliens. Ok, maybe piano players, but i'mma bet there are more teens getting greesy fingers from a car than teens playing the piano/that category of musical instrument.
I get why we need taller phones than 16:9 with onscreen buttons, but going beyond 18:9 is just an excusse to make a smartdildo with calling capabilities.

Asus phones are always exciting be it flagship or not. Having used ZenFones in the past, I'd say they really know what customers want and they go on to make exactly that kind of a phone. They launched their first Android smartphone, the ZenFone 5, at an affordable price at the time when budget smartphones were all the rage since the original Moto G arrived and they've since then tried to make the smartphone design interesting as most phones are all the same looking, for example the ZenFone 2 with back buttons for volume, also at a very accessible price point. The ZenFone 3 brought the metal and glass design when the trend just began and that too was in the midrange category which isn't seen commonly and so on. Every new iteration brings something interesting. The ZenFone AR and the ZenFone Zoom are another examples of fancy designs, besides the ZenFone 6 and 7 which of course brought the flip-up camera and the same accessible price and not something like a thousand bucks for nothing like other flagships. This time its the compact form with the ZenFone 8 which is welcome

Anonymous, 08 May 2021If there's no OIS that's probably a deal-breaker. Thot-a-gram or poohpuke user? How bout stop boasting and start working.

What, 09 May 2021OIS has been STANDARD since like what, 2015????Still haven't had a phone with it and i've had 4 since 2016. Ois would be nice for the back(flip) camera, but i view it like an ir blaster - nice to have, but not nescessary.

Thats not a small phone. 5,9 inch screen but 148mm tall is a bit too big. Especially when galaxy a41 year old phone was 149mm tall wit h6.1 inch screen and one year more before with A40 144.4 mm tall for 5.9 inch screen. For me everything that is over 140mm tall are not compact or mini phones. Especially when you can fit 5.4 inch in a phone that is 131mm tall.

Specs for it is nice but for a small phone i dont need half of that

A380, 08 May 2021Great phone overall! I hope they succeed in JapanAsus does not succeed in Taiwan, how can it in Japan where people buy Apple and sometimes japanese phone?

                                Get a life...so ironic.

This phone is actually sooo good

That was the only thing missing in this phone even... moreOIS is a big deal though, particularly for people with hands that aren't quite as steady. I guess the Snapdragon 888 could power some really good EIS, but we'll have to wait until people get their hands on it and test it out.

ithehappy, 08 May 2021so no ois?Amazing. That was the only thing missing in this phone even though it must be completely fine without it and you found that one to complain on asus. Some people are impossible to please no matter what you do. Get a life bro.
