Now? Already had bad publicity with the cameras not up to the expectations...
Try to fix this with the Oneplus "9T Pro" in September...proper cameras, with top photo/video experience.

        My phones are hardly ever out of a case , apart from when cleaning them.
        So I’m not fussed on build material

            Anonymous, 09 May 2021Can't believe a company that once claimed the title &q... moreThe back of the OnePlus 9 is glass, it's the frame that is plastic and it's not even 100% plastic, it's durable enough even when being bend on purpose, it has glossy paint, you act like it's a hard black plastic they put on cheap phones or cars.
            Plus most people put their phone in a case.

Anyway, a plastic frame isn't going to detract from the user experience, and it was a cost cutting measure they were willing to make and I think it was a smart decision. I think they could've easily gotten away with a plastic back too, but only because I put a case on my phone, if you don't you would probably be able to tell that the back was plastic. But really, when are you going to realise that the frame of your phone is plastic not metal?

The regular OnePlus 9 would have been ideal, with the flat screen and decent price. They should change their motto from "Never settle" to something more appropriate.

                  I recently got the 9 and it's a good news (may be). I'm still not convinced with the camera performance but hopefully it'll fix it.I use Gcam to improve the front camera, back camera is above average. I find Oxygen OS so much better vs OneUI from my previous S10e. Hopefully i wont have any issues in the future.
