The rumor mill also says that internal memory will be 8Gb and 16GB with no micro-sd slot. Plus non-removable battery. If this were true, they would be deal breakers as far as I'm concerned.

If Sony make the new Nexus it'll look gorgeous but specs will be it's downfall. If LG make the new Nexus specs would probably be beastly like the Optimous G and with Google doing the software it would be perfect.
Either would be a good choice but I'll rather see LG

last year all forums wrote that the next Nexus comming from LG . Comming from HTC now they are talking about Sony . Guys wake up Samsung will continue product Google Nexus Phone until Galaxy Series get over.

Maguro
Toro (Verizon version)
Toro Plus (Sprint version)
both yakju and takju is Maguro.
the only difference is in software, one with Google Wallet, one doesn't have.

I am soooo Glad that Samsung is NOT making this next Nexus. They've had their turn and now it's Sony or LG's turn.
I can't wait to see how much better the next Nexus is than what Samsung has delivered.
Hope Sony makes it but LG makes great hardware as well.

So far from the looks of things, like the fact that aosp sas been working on vanilla ics for xperia s, we might see an xperia nexus in near future as well.

So it's within Googles best interests to pass this on to them and show them this trust. Hence why they got the second contract to build the Galaxy Nexus.

Cool2000 it is not true what u said. Only two version of gnex ( yakju and takju) take google updates. All the other versions take updates from samsung and their carrier ( verrizon, tmobile ect

Next Nexus should be made by HTC! , Samsung is just a Copy righter of other manufacturers and they are just making cheap plastic quality things , But HTC Rocks in quality and performance !!!

Given track records, the only two companies that seem to have any sense of urgency in regards to updates are Samsung and HTC. But as the phone requires only Googles input to be updated, it takes out the UI from any manufacturer. To be honest, it doesn't matter who makes the next Nexus phone as the company making it is only presenting forward its hardware and saying 'look at what we did for Google!'. Ultimately, any update will be fed by Google and that is all that matters in staying ahead in the Android game.

Maybe samsung is just a update but... LG is a good phone if we take the Optimus G like a guide to create a nexus, but i will like to HTC to the next gen of nexus.... :(
