In Canada, I bought the Active Watch 2 expecting a whole bunch of features that I never got. In fact they took a lot of great features away like the in-depth Weight tracking that you had on Samsung health and the watch. It actually went backwards in terms of functionality from when I bought it. Not happy. They are extremely poor at communicating with their customers what is coming and when (or if). Starting to look at Garmin more and more.

No blood sugar monitoring is a big disappointment. Someone with heavily volatile blood sugar levels to read it on my watch would help😕

I was actually interested to buy this, but lack of blood sugar monitoring changed my mind not to go with this device.

Google discloses what it tracks and it sells information so that ads can offer you shoes or movie tickets.

China tracks you for much more sinister purposes.

I really hope this is just a fishing exercise and Samsung stays with Tizen. I own Watch 3 think its a great watch and has all the apps bases covered. Tons of beautiful watch faces, great health apps, messaging, email, maps, etc. I know there AI assistant Bixby is not as good as Google, but its getting better.
So go to WearOS for more apps and add a bigger battery, maybe 2 screens. doesn't make sense.
Samsung, stay with Tizen and lure more developers to Tizen.

I was actually looking forward to the non-invasive blood sugar reading. I wonder if Samsung will help Google improve wearOS.

Neither Google nor any other "Google " need a team to spy on you. There's AI for that. And yes, they are recording EVERYTHING you see, how long you spend looking at it, what you click, everything. You don't need to be "interesting " for that, you are perfectly sellable as you are. I don't expect you to understand but maybe somebody else will.

G... moreSure, Google itself is not interested with what i'm doing, my heart problems or who my friends are. But, Google is selling my data to those who might be interested in it, for whatever reason. Quite simply, i can be denied a job or get fired because my ECG reading are not standard or whatever. You never know.

They are not developing WearOS for the sake of it, they are not philanthropists. They are in the business of spying and selling data. And now it's the next step, intimate health data.

Apple's business for example is selling hardware, not selling their user's data. Recently, when given choice, more than 90% of iPhone and iPad users have been opting out of ad tracking. And believe me, Facebook was really pissed off.

I've gone through 3 Wear OS watches. Mostly because they weren't supported once new OS software was released. Supposedly the hardware couldn't handle the OS (even though the Sony SmartWatch was one of the devices used to test the software)

My wife has the Gear S2 Classic and the Gear S2 sport( about 6 years old). I have the Gear S3 Frontier LTE (5years old). All of them have continued to get software updates even up until last week. Sometimes even gaining features the newer watches have.

To me Tizen still runs smoother than the demo model Wear OS watches I've looked at. I also find the basic apps on the Galaxy watches are fine enough. Extra apps aren't really necessary for me at least.
