In these links, the heating issues and the reason behind them is nicely summed up, I can recommend you to read them.
Of all the phones with SD870, Oppo Find X3, Vivo X60 Pro and Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ has great cameras respectively. Since the phones in which SD870 is used are focused on price/performance balance, there is no outstanding cameras like this year's S21 Ultra or Mi 11 Ultra on them but these 3 I mentioned does a great job in every shot. You can safely go with any of these three if you want a phone with SD870.

N... moreIt's because this year's SD888 is totally a disaster in terms of battery performance, thermal heating, etc. So people are going for a cheaper and more reliable alternative chipset.
Also, Chinese brands are not the only ones to follow the SD870 trend. Samsung will also use SD870 in their upcoming FE series and maybe Google will also use too.

The SD870 may hint that it will be sold cheaper. unfortunately they are still going with the curved display.
I would be greatful for a camera phone that tries to cut the price intelligently. e.g. no curved display, sd870 instead of 888, no super expensive display technology (90 or even 60hz are enough, man, even a color accurate lcd would be fine with me), no focus on fast charging (30w would be enough), no expensive ip rating, no other expensive experimental technology. just ultra cameras with midrange to premium specs in other departments.
also, a shutter button would be really amazing if you have a dedicated camera phone.

There is barely any difference between this and Axon 30 Ultra, except for 2nd gen UD camera technology. I don't think there is a need for this phone.
