On the security side, Google has just hired the Magisk guy to work in their Android security team. Looks like Safetynet may start working properly after all these years -- to be clear, that may not be such great news for those using custom ROMs.
Nevertheless, it's still early days so who knows.

Title must be "Google is planning a big UI overhaul for their Pixel smartphones and other Google products"
This won't affect much Samsung, Xiaomi, BBK and other smartphones with custom Android UI.

I really like the UI... Sucks that android is so fragmented tho. While I doubt it'll ever have a consistent UI like iOs, at the very least it looks nice and clean

However, most manufacturers would rather stick with their own custom skins and other customizations leaving this big UI overhaul appealing only for Pixel and stock Android lovers which is frankly speaking just the minority of the overall Android users.
