Mini-LED MacBook Pro to launch in limited supply this year

The deepening supply chain shortages could affect mini-LED availability for the MacBook Pro.

I can't help but wonder if this is really due to the chip shortage. Apple have been using the same tactics to hype up the iPhone for a while now.

    An M2 macbook with miniled display would be a marketers dream come true. Hope they don't price it too crazy.

      Higher brightness

      No PWM flickering

      Better high refresh rate performance, no gamma issues

      Anti OLED monopoly to drive competition and prices

      Savings on R&D for production supply chains as most already have LCD framework

      Having per pixel control as being the best solution is not a questioned that has been answered yet

      Minled can answer the question of how much dimming zones are indistinguishably equal to a point where the consumer can't tell the difference between it an OLED contrast wise

      Similar to how there are diminishing returns for 1080p to 2k to 4k panels

OLED/AMOLED is superior when it comes to display quality. Maybe you're confused with mini led and micro led, micro led is the future. Mini led is just a better version of LCD with thousand of dimming zone but it can't beat the per pixel lighting of OLED display.

          OLED on a laptop is dimmer than LCD, let alone tablets.

          Tab S7+ maxes out at 388 nits...iPad Pro 11 does around 600. Look at the Pro 13..

            Please mass produce them so they get cheap enough and available for smartphones
