People who are willing to spend money on it are basically being bamboozled by Google. So Google not only get your personal data, but profit off from the phone purchase as well. Hooray for Google.

This is nothing but hypocrisy. If Google was honest about diversity and inclusion, they would have not created a biased product in first place. All these diversity talk which these big tech firms do is all optics. These companies are responsible for magnifying the problem and now they are doing these eyewash initiatives to come across as clean. Bunch of pathetic people and nothing else.

Yet Google keeps harvesting my data. Do you pay for Gmail? No. Because you understand Google will get your personal data. Do you pay for Facebook? Same thing. So why should I pay for a Pixel phone? Google should give it for free since I already paid for it with my data that Google continues to harvest.

The after photos looks worse than the before photos. More yellowish.

The first comparison photo of the old system, is actually more accurate, and the second, the guy is actually yellow. Our eyes adjust accurate lighting levels to look more balanced, and harshly so. Now when you put that on a little screen, the mind does not have enough stimulus and time to dynamically adjust it's color perception to it, to normalise it. Plus, a blue 6500+ kelvin color temperature screen is going make it look bluer and harsher again. The iffy dynamic range, and stuff up" 8 bit" photo further adds to the problems, making it harder to post adjust without limiting change without introducing more issues, like fine banding. Also notice the awful yellow tint throughout the colors in the picture now.

The hair thing, is the latest on my industry image preference hierarchy lost for preserving more important quality at higher compressiim rates, which I post and talk to leading companies about. Meh!

The thing is, these things are oftenj not intrinsic racism, as some people think. In 3D construction and cueuing, for instance, certain model sets of expected shape may effect the response for different races, but these systems also work off of shadow and contrast differences, to find those cues in a 2D image. So, dark skin time is going make it harder. But preferential compression, for various skins tines by racial market, has long been done in camcorders. The same here. The compression routines sacrifice the least differences, so dark areas get more sacrificed, when you want them much more preserved here. The industry can adjust things (and use a more balanced color than this yellow tint here) but, particularly video, they need to offer 12 bit plus, and pro like datarates in compression (and 4:2:2, 4:4:4) which will help in these issues.
