21 May 2021
It hasn't been confirmed yet, but they will likely adopt the 8z name, similar to their predecessors.

What is the issue in announcing launch date now. The problem is that Asus is using same people for mobile business which is much more dynamic than their other business. This entire episode of half information is again showing how incompetent overall planning is.

only the dates should have been officially out by now, Asus surely is losing out a lot in the competition due to the "early" announcement but delay in release.

Now india page for 8z is not live. Search asus 8z india and you cannot see the page which used to be at top.
This means Asus has no plan to bring zenphone 8 to India

By the time they will decide to launch. World will move to next level.. Very poor planning by India Leadership team of Asus.. They lost many potential customers and will loose more.. They need to be quick to launch and capitalized on initial euphoria which is created around 8Z..

Most premium features and latest SD flagship chips with AMOLED panels is defintely a high end Asus phone. The price is expected below the Samsung flagships.

Too expensive for Indian market. Only Samsung and Apple can make it above 35k. That will sell but negligible count. Price it under 35k Asus will take all the OnePlus Market

ithehappy, 21 May 2021When a new iPhone is released, usually around August, the p... moreI don't track iphone prices, not usually nor during sales. But at least I know that they haven;t ever released in August, it's mostly Sept or sometimes Oct. And looking right now at i11 prices, it's all >50k after months of 12 series on the market. So I'm not sure how low they'll drop the 12mini when the 13 launches, but I doubt it'll land ~45k.
Compared to Z8, the i12m has a worse screen (incl that huge hideous notch), just 64gb storage, worse battery life despite 60Hz, no HP jack, no AF on UW camera (hence no macro), no bundled charger or case, glossy back, some of the basics.
Sure it has superior updates, slightly better cameras, etc
And what the hell do u mean by "an Apple device is an Apple device". I'm getting some serious (I can't seem to remember the exact word for it but) 'show-off/awaiting approval from others' kind of vibes. At least that's a big reason why quite some people buy iphones in india in the first place.

If they are selling the Basic Variant of Zenfone 8Z for 35-40k price range then I am definitely going to buy.

It's one of the best Non Chinese offerings and has headphone jack with Flagship Processor, IP rating and most importantly the display size isn't crazy 6.5".

The target audience is totally different, there are people who always wanted a compact flagship phone and asus is targeting those people. And op9r is just op8t in new design so that's a 2020 flagship and iqoo even though it's a vivo sub brand many people don't even know their name and who have used their iqoo 3 have already experienced poor software experience

The 256 gb version with 16gb ddr5 ram will be epic if they manage to launch it around 40k....if they go beyond that the competition is huge from pixel, samsung, apple. they are considered more reliable brands compared to asus. And due to covid, again the anti china sentiment is there!

They charge a fortune for replacing parts if they're available at all. My Asus was a year and a half old when the screen got defective and they wanted 10000 rupees to replace it when a similar spec OnePlus screen cost 3500. The phone which was bought for 22500 in the introductory offer (original price around 28000) was selling at that point for 16000. Huge depreciation.

I just bring my phone back to retailer, because of the worse call quality and no volte in a lot of countries. Jou can check the problem list on the zentalk.asus.com. A lot of problems is with these phone right now.
