Chinese manufacturers are different and they actually pay attention to these things. No wonder Apple and Samsung are losing marketshare.

Asus did nothing wrong with both models, honestly. They are obviously testing the waters and seeing what the market really needs, so whichever model solds more, will seal the fate of the Zenfone line towards the future.

If the compact sells more, Asus will move towards that. If the Flip does, Asus will continue with it, so vote with your wallets.

As for me, the Compact model calls my atention more. The Flip literally only has that going on for it, that aside is a generic phablet with nothing worth or unique going on for it.

For the first time in a few years ASUS disappoints with the 2021 options. Although pro-Samsung (undeclared sponsored) bias will be in full effect on the usual Android sites (you know the ones). After seeing nothing has really changed in the hardware department they will say something like "it is disappointing to see that ASUS have just brought us a near identical phone". Yet if it was a Samsung phone that had remained unchanged they'd have written "nothing inside has changed - but then it didn't have to - what was inside was pretty unbeatable and awesome how it was".

It's lazy of asus to just basically replace sd865 with sd888 and not replace theb90hz to 120hz and even add a headphone jack because sd888 has integrated modem so it should have more space if done correctly.

Still hoping for a flip pro variant.
